Rudy - Outpost - Matt He sighed and turned toward Matt. Rudy motioned for him to follow while they walked toward the cafeteria. "They're polite, I guess. Though all the fuckin' new recruits are. Once we see them out on the field, then we'll know for sure." He paused at the cafeteria doors, one hand on the door. "Actually, they had one guy speak for them mostly. Made them seem like lackeys." He shrugged and pushed the door open. "But what the hell do I know? I let Reggie do most of the talking. He loves to do it." Inside the cafeteria was a large open room, with benches and tables sprawled across it. The walls were lined with giant windows that let the dull grey light of day inside. It wasn't the most structurally sound building. At the counter to the side of the room, Rudy slipped a token to the man behind it. Everyone in Outpost was issued three tokens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food was hardly scarce, but snacking was not a luxury they could afford. The tokens were actually just poker chips, but no one used them for poker. Rudy had once found a box of poker chips out scouting, but Reggie had made sure they had went to the council and not into Rudy's personal collection. "Please tell me you have mashed potatoes still," Rudy said. "You're in luck, dude. I guess you want meat with it?" "Whatever you got." Rudy leaned on the counter and turned to Matt. "So, what were you up to today?"
