And yes. It was three weeks. But the students wouldn't have been together during all of that time. They probably spent a little less than a week at school before going home to get ready for the trip. Those that don't have a home just stayed with Maria.

So... sure. Why not. They could potentially know each other. At least by name. All previously introduced characters know each other by name at the very least. Everyone that has yet to be introduced must do so themselves.
