– Kathy Wearing a rather tired looking expression, Kathy didn’t seem as enthusiastic as most of the other students as they finally arrived on the island. While she had been polite enough and made plenty of small talk with others, she had avoided really hanging out with anyone in particular the last few weeks, choosing mostly to lounge on her own in her room until it was time to go back to her parents’ place. Any time someone tried to talk about the second day of school, she had always subtly attempted to change the conversation and just straight out told them she really didn’t want to talk about that day if her first attempt did not work out. However, her mood now had little to do with her behaviour from days at school and more to do with the fact they were now stuck on an island surrounded by treacherous waters. She had a choice between staying with her parents while the other students enjoyed themselves on the vacation, or following along to the potential death-trap for the swimming-impaired. She had chosen the latter of the two evils. While she liked looking at the beach, going to one was an entirely different story. Stepping out of the boat in a purple swim top and black shorts, her frown deepened slightly when her black flip-flops sank into the sand. ‘I miss solid surfaces already…’ She sighed. She hadn’t known for the longest time, but it seemed that she used her ability subconsciously even as she walked on regular surfaces. That was probably why she had such a good sense of balance and rarely ever tripped even while she ran or walked, because her ability had always set her point of gravity down right at her feet no matter what. On the sand… She pretty much lost that advantage completely. ‘Sand and water… We meet again my non-biological enemies.’ Avoiding the lovely shore, Kathy began to walk away from the waters and decided to head towards the resort. --- – Leroy Smiling broadly, Leroy stepped off the boat with a giant white canvas in his hands and a large backpack on his back. He had on a plain white t-shirt and light blue swim trunks, but from his appearance it was pretty clear he had no intentions of splashing around in the waters. Getting off the boat, he walked along the coast until he found a good view of the sea without the sun glaring into his eyes. Slipping off his backpack and leaving it on the sand, he opened the bag up and took out a paint palette, several tubes of paint, and an unfolding easel. Setting the easel and canvas up, Leroy made the stereotypical ‘thumbs-up pose’ artists made when they were trying to scale objects in the distance. Humming a bright tune to himself, he started covering the canvas in various shades of blue. At the moment, it was difficult to see if he even actually planned to paint the scene in front of him because the entire canvas was just messily being covered in different blues.
