Actually it is... Irony could also be used by events... Kaga would've expected aym to see the dalek first since she is a major dr. who fannatic and is using a dalek as an avatar... but the exact opposite happened and aym didn't see it at all till just now. 

irony by events that took an unexpected turn... the turn being the opposite from the expected one.
