When I sit down and think about it, I suppose my music tastes haven't really changed. The first two CDs I ever bought were Oasis (What's The Story Morning Glory?) and Faust (Opera by C. Gounod). In my multiple disk player (back in the day lol), I'd have everything from classic rock to chamber music. As I grew older, I found out about a few more genres of music that I enjoy (electronica), but I still maintain all my original tastes, especially while doing certain things: - Whenever I'm doing work outside (yard work, washing a car, painting, etc.) I always listen to oldies. (The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Buddy Holly, etc.) - On rainy/snowy days I always enjoy listening to classical music. (Generally softer stuff... chamber music, piano or violin soloists...) That, or calm acoustic guitar/indie artist music. - Driving a car always warrants a classic rock station/playlist. This is especially true in the spring/summer. (Dean Winchester has nothing on me.) - And now, while working/drawing/painting, I almost always listen to electronica or movie soundtracks/instrumentals. (Generally stuff with no lyrics -- it makes it easier to sort of get lost in the music and focus on my work.) I tend to very much be a creature of habit with my music. Though I do enjoy discovering new artists, I invariably tend to steer away from rap or hip hop music -- they've just never done much for me -- and I continue to rock out within the categories listed above.
