Some people heat their houses with propane. (In lieu of using natural gas, usually. Whether it's because natural gas isn't available in their area or because they're using a stove fueled by propane, rather than relying on oil or a wood stove to heat things.)

I've heard propane prices in the south have skyrocketed -- thousands to fill up tanks now in some areas, rather than hundreds. Ridiculous.
