The sword art online world Welcome! You maybe wondering just what you are meant to do here, why, it's simple! Beat all 100 levels! Simple, right? Well, it's not so simple as that. There's quests, professions, skills weapons and more. You have a whole world to experience, and this guide will help you! Continually check, because it's going to be updated regularly by a small group of betas! A virtual world. A huge castle made of stone and steel floating in an endless sky. That was all this world was. Within, there are 100 floors stacking straight upwards; its sheer size was unbelievable. It was impossible to even guess how much data it consisted of. Inside, there are large cities along with countless small scale towns and villages, forests and plains, and even lakes. Only one stairway linked each floor to another, and the stairways existed in dungeons where large numbers of monsters roamed; so discovering and getting through is no easy matter. However, once someone made a breakthrough and arrived at a city of the upper floor, the «Teleport Gates» there and of every cities in the lower floors would be connected making it possible for anyone to move freely through these levels. This is the world of Aincrad. Everything to do with Aincrad is all about the player and how the player can reach the 100th floor. To do so, you do not only need to kill monsters. You need to make friends and band together to defeat bosses and work your way up. However, you cannot do this with just brute skill. You will need special weapons and armor that cannot be found. How about a Musician or Performer to cheer up your team’s spirits? Well these are what we call Professions. The Town of Beginnings The town of beginnings is the main settlement of the 1st floor of <>. It takes up about 20 percent of the 1st floor surface area. There is the Black Iron Palace, the Monument of Life There is a lot of inns, and there prices for items are very low here! Its a good home base! How to Earn Money! Money makes the world go round, doesn't it? Well, its the same here in <>,You can earn money from a variety of things, such as monster killing, item drops, selling to merchants, and quests! So first up, you need to learn how to fight! How to fight There is no magic in this game. Simply its all about sword skills. So get yourself a good weapon. You can unlock sword skills, but at the moment, just focus on levelling! You can fight Frenzy Boar just outside the town of beginnings, that's a good way to level up. The mechanics of fighting is simple: Sword Skills are activated when a player performs the appropriate «Pre-Motion» for a skill (such as raising a sword atop one's shoulder) and then allowing the program to take over and automatically complete the movement and combo at a speed that is normally near impossible for a player to achieve and dealing much more damage than a regular sword swing. After a skill is completed, the user is temporarily rendered rigid in a state called a «Post-Motion», in which the user is made vulnerable to any counter-attacks. The higher level the Sword Skill used was, the longer the «Post-Motion» period is. After a Sword Skill has been used, the skill enters a «Cooling» period, which is displayed as a cooling icon at the bottom of the player's view. Until this period ends, the same category of Sword Skill cannot be used, however, any other learned skills that are not in a cooling period can still be used. The player's weapon typically glows in a color specific to a Sword Skill when the skill is activated. The amount of available Sword Skills and their type depends on the Weapon Skills that the player has trained. So you need to charge your skills, to fight. Sure, you can simply stab, but using what skills you have (You should have basic things like slash and horizontal or vertical). By charging, you enable powerful attacks. There's cool downs for these attacks, but once you get a variety of sword skills, you should have a lot of chances in fighting. Armor Classes Light-cloth or light leather armor, suitable for those focusing on speed, and flexibility. Cloth armor focuses on being able to move swiftly, and hide more easily then any other armor. While having more physical defense than cloth, leather armor increases the evasion abilities of a character. Medium-Heavy leather, and light metal armor such as chain. With increased physical defense, chain armor focuses on defense, as well as speed and flexibility. Heavy Armor-This is essentially plate. Having the highest defensive capabilities, plate armor allows the wearer more resilience to be in the front lines yet diminishes speed and flexibility. How to Earn Experience You need to fight monsters! On the first floor, there's Frenzy boars, which are actually similar to slime monsters on other games, so easy pikings! Then there is Direwolves, Nepents (little and Large), Koibold sententials and of course, the boss. Here's the known amount of experience you need for levels:

skills Skills are an important aspect of Sword Art Online! Players can equip them on around 10-20 different part of their body, including left hand, right hand, head, arm, body, wrist and so on.[2] Combat Parameters Several factors go into the calculation of damage in Sword Art Online. Among them, include the efficacy of hits (a direct hit as opposed to a scratch), the skill level of a player, the Sword Skill used, and the weapon stats. SAO's damage calculation system is more complicated than the system on ALfheim Online. Weapons have the following enhancement parameters that determine stats: Sharpness, Quickness, Accuracy, Heaviness, and Durability. When a weapon is given to an NPC or player smith to upgrade, bonuses such as +1 or +2 are appended select categories. Players use an abbreviated notation to describe the effective bonuses on a weapon. «1A2H1D» for example, has +1 Accuracy, +2 Heaviness, and +1 Durability. On a regular basis, these parameters cannot be seen unless a weapon is «Appraised». Selecting a weapon will only show its name and its aggregate bonuses (the sum of all enhancement parameters). It is almost completely circular with a square area of 50 square miles. The Major town on the First Floor is Starting City, but there are also numerous other towns and villages. There is no particular theme or dominant geography. As the starting location of all new players, the great expanse of the First Floor is quite diverse. ~Starting City is located on the southern end of the floor and rests over the edge. The settlement as a diameter of 7 miles, and it is the focal point of the floor. Its walls form a semi-circle to the north. ~Grasslands surround Starting City, and they are populated primarily by boar and wolf-type monsters. Also; Worms, beetles, and wasp-type insect monsters also inhabited the grasslands surrounding Starting City.To the northwest of Starting City, there is a deep forest region. The northeast is a lake region. Players must pass through either of the two regions before reaching a significantly more dangerous mountainous region containing ruins, valleys, and more difficult monsters. ~The first floor Dungeon is located on the far northern edge of the floor. It begins at part of a large 1000 feet wide by 300 feet tall tower that is a portion of the dungeon that leads to the 2nd Floor. The dungeon itself has twenty floors before the boss room. Main settlement: Starting City (town of beginnings) Other settlements: Horunka Village (It consists of ten buildings and can serve as a hunting base. In its surrounding forest, there are no monsters that spawn around it that cause paralysis or equipment destruction.) - Tolbana (Raid Base) Tolbana is the second largest townThe city is surrounded by large castle walls and is known for its white walled windmill towers, as well as being the closest town to the 1st Floor’s Labyrinth, situated in a valley at a walking distance of thirty minutes. Field of Crossroads (A giant field with two main paths leading to Horunka and Tolbana, the field is inhabited by wolves) Geniku- a small town that is on the edge of farming land. Citadel South of The Town of Beginnings Okinaba- A town near Geriku, with windmills around it, it is known for its windmills. Tonkilo-The town before Tolbana, it is merely a place to rest. There may be some monsters around it. Floor Two The second floor is generally mountainous topography. The terrain is rocky, full of hills, and not particularly diverse. Most of the landscape is predominantly flat-topped mountains, which are topped with lush green grass. It is primarily inhabited by large ox-type monsters. The main settlement of the second floor is the town, Urbus. The entirety of the Second Floor is mountainous in terrain, and is inhabited by a large variety of plains and cliff-like geographical features. Taking the settlement, Urbus, as a reference point, the city is situated in a crater excavated from a mountain. Surrounding it are plains. To the west of the town is a savanna and field region characterized by dangerous buffalo-type monsters roaming about. Beyond the savanna is wasteland which Kirito regards as dangerous when the floor is opened. There is an exceptionally high towering mountain in the southern edge of the floor, which is a small clearing surrounded by cliffs, a spring, and a lone tree. This is the start point of Martial Arts Extra Skill quest. Main settlement: Urbus (The city is about 300 meters in diameter and it's appearance seems to be created from a crater from the mountainous region in the area, it has an appearance similar to kingdom in medieval Europe) Other settlements: [iHigh Fields of Crossing (A mountain who's top is a giant garden like field filled with different kinds of plants, it is also a safe zone used for passing the time) Marome Village (It has the appearance of a large fortress like building) Taran Village (Raid base and a small village surrounded by stone pillars, the town is entirely made of rock except for the furniture) First Floor Dungeon Exit The first floor exit is on a cliff. A series of winding stairs (each with 48 steps), a player can reach ground level. It is about 1 kilometer distant from Urbus. Since the First Floor Dungeon is located on the north end of the First Floor, it can be deduced that Urbus and the exit is located on the northern end of the second floor. Marome is a small village about three kilometers southeast of Urbus. Its shops lack variety in wares, and it has no NPC blacksmith. Martial Arts Master's Hut The hut is located on top of mountain of the second floor Floor Three Prairie (All NPC's, except for some monsters, within this floor are elven/elves) Main settlement: Delilah Village (A large old country style village, much like those that would be at a distance from kingdom capitols in medieval Europe and it's surrounded by fields of dandelions) Other settlements: Forest of Wavering Mist (A patch of woods that lacks almost all visibility, a dangerous trek for all who venture in. Though no one enters the, as they are guarded by an immortal object known as 'Charon the Ferryman', a statue as decayed and old as the churches they guard, who will only allow the person who answers his riddle to enter.) The Pleasure Oasis (Unrestricted Forum only location, a place for belly dancers and the such. Found in Armadillo.) Fortaleza (Fortitude, a large town with a brick wall surrounding it. Here you can become stronger in a slightly safer environment, but staying the night costs) Floor Eight Giant Forest Main settlement: Florenthia Village (A town suspended by the giant tree branches above the deep perilous monster infested waters below, it's homes have been made through the use of smaller brach pieces. Inn's and shops are found within the trunk of the trees holding the town up.) Except that he was a vivid gamer, and took up Ninjutsu. He has a normal family with one younger sister. They get along fine. There aren't any dramas in his life. However, when it comes to games, anyone that has said anything bad about a game, without any real critique, just words without argument, he will let them have it. He has been suspended for beating 5 other kids to the ground due to their trash talk of a game, that was just saying it was bad, without discussing what it was. He had asked them, what is wrong with that game, and they only could answer it is just bad. During his free time, he has taken up programming, and has learned how to code. Although not proficient, he can program very simple games. Sei has been excited over the first VRMMORPG, and thinks when he has the time, he will try to decode parts for his own learning. Personality: Generally, a nice, friendly guy all round. He isn't very social though. Doesn't engage other people often. But he will help others when they need help. She was raised well, but was often forced to meet expectations she found difficult. Failing the expectations resulted in shame, disappointment, and anger from her parents. She internalized it to mean she wasn’t good enough, that her parents did not love her, and that her parents only wanted results. She would sullenly rebel against her parents, but at the same time, she wanted their acceptance and their acknowledgement. When she failed an expectation, she would be in tears and crying herself to sleep because of the harsh raised voices of her upset parents. This made her feel weak. This made her hate herself. So she struggled to curb her emotions. She struggled to remove them. She failed that, but managed to distance herself from her emotions. She found solace in games, in moments of excitement and joy that would help her get through life. In games she could be another; in games she could loosen the chains she weighed herself down with. When the VRMMO Sword Art Online came into being, she hurriedly tried to get the game and join the beta. She didn’t manage to get in the beta, but she did manage to get the game and Nerve Gear early on. When she discovered she was trapped in the game, she chose to stay in the village and sneak out on her own to go fight monsters. She wanted to survive, and so, she needed money. To some extent, she is elated by her situation. Here is an escape from her life. If she survives in this world, she is free from her past life, and if she dies, she is still free. However, to some extent, she fears returning to the real world. For her, strength is protection, strength is safety, and in this world she is someone else. When this world ends… what then? Could she really survive being submerged in that world again? Then again, she might very well die here, God knows her chances of surviving are low, and that wouldn’t be so bad, would it? Personality Janet is a very reserved person, especially in front of strangers. She bases how she acts upon the people around her. She is constantly weighing expectations of others and her own internal turmoil to determine what to do. She’s more of a solitary creature by choice, though at times, it gets a bit lonely. She enjoys the peace of not having to meet expectations. Janet has low self-esteem, is easily hurt, and loathes herself deep down; however, she also has a strong will and survival instinct. Short Bio: Born to two Japanese immigrants to the U.S., Hideki was always fascinated with his parents' homeland and the developments within. He became even more engrossed in the world of video games, however, and would often spend time playing inside than with the children in the park. When he heard of the development of a VRMMORPG, he became extremely excited, going so far as to have his parents import a copy of the game and a NerveGear on the game's release day from Japan. He's an avid fan of all games, ranging from visual novels to RTS games to, of course, MMORPGs. Personality: Hideki usually isn't a sociable person, mainly due to the fact that his isolation during his childhood didn't really develop any social skills. What few social skills he has he gained from playing online with others, at which point he began to reach out to others and extend his knowledge of others. He's generally friendly to others around him (it's his default attitude inside MMOs), but his attitude quickly turns colder if in danger. If so, he becomes a lot more callous to people and attempts to make the best possible decision for the survival of the group, even if he has to sacrifice others (or even his own safety, if need be) to assure that. Short Bio: Born in 2003 to a pair of enthusiastic and optimistic Venezuelans, Carla lived her early years comfortably. They weren't rich, nor were they overly special. But what they lacked in flashy stories to tell, they more than made up for in the way they lived their lives. Leading lives of freedom and passion, the Castro family always followed their hearts and desires instead of their thoughts and fears. In their eyes, what was a million dollars worth if you worked in a place you hated, doing something that depressed you? Maybe that was why they were constantly scraping the bottom of the barrel for coins to pay their bills. Maybe that was why they had to move out of Venezuela and into Japan when Carla was ten years old. But one thing's for certain--The family never stopped following their hearts, even after having lost their home, their security and social status. Even when they had to live in a cramped, old and dusty place and could barely afford one computer. As for Carla, she finished High School in a Spanish-speaking Japanese High School, where she learned the country's language. She had no money to attend to University, so instead, she looked for money somewhere else. She was a daring woman, so she had gone to the Police Department and asked for a position in the forces. As expected, they had to make sure she was up to their standards, and after quite a few tests and a lot of training, Carla was accepted into the PD. The job gave her the money needed to upgrade his family's household a little by little, but she also used some of her hard earned money to buy a new piece of gear that she had always dreamed of having--The NerveGear along with Sword Art Online-- She had to use up her yearly allowed vacations to line up for the game in stores, not to mention emptying her bank accounts once she was given a chance to buy the stuff. But it was worth it, for once she had entered the world of Sword Art Online, she instantly teared up in emotion and surprise.
