Tom splashed his face with water and looked up to his image on the mirror. He took a deep breath and went to his room to grab a shirt. It was his first day to go back to school with other kids. For more than five years, he had a home school program which separated him from everyone else. His parents almost never let him out of the house, so he didn't have any friends outside, though he has met people. While he wore a maroon unzipped hoodie over his gray shirt, the sound of the door swinging open and slamming to the wall made him jump. It was his father, staring at him with stern eyes. They stared at each other for ten seconds before his father shut the door closed without a word. It's always been like that; them watching him, ignoring him most of the time. He deserved it after all, but he didn't dwell on those thoughts anymore. When everything was set, he picked up a backpack and went downstairs. No one spoke or said goodbye when he left the house and started walking. The school already told him where the nearest bus stop was, so he went that way. He was on the sidewalk when he saw the bus stop, and there was one girl there (HELENA). He pushed his glasses up a little before continuing his way towards it. He took a seat right on the bench beside her and stole a glance. It's been a while since he's had a conversation with someone, especially a girl, so he said "Hey," in a quick mutter to her.
