One could say Illiendi should have acted more surprised but as Amano stopped and began to speak Illiendi came to a slow and natural stop and allowed his noble man to speak. He stood with the same natural, bird like grace as he had their entire trip so far, with the bearing of one born into his role, any less for a demon of his standing and it would be considered a waste of his time and talents. He never did things half way, no, especially in the pursuit of intellect he went with all the detail and ability he could. He listened to Amano and as that first word left his lords lips there was a faint and gentle bow of his head, Illiendi was a demon and he didn't know love but his master had said no and there was no force, even God, that could change that fact now it was spoken aloud. Illiendi had intended to simply answer with an 'as you wish' but the boy continued to explain why he said no, in what, to Illiendi, seemed a pointless gesture. Humans though had a habit of taking offence rather easily and no doubt such action was simply driven in considering his high born state but low rank in the family. The plan to use a woman as a means of inspiring the people was out, which honestly was quite the shame for it would have generated a lot more rumours a lot easier and swung the hearts of the people quickly. Women were easy on the eyes and thus men often fell for their charms and guile, willingly or erstwise. While his master spoke he remained still but his mind raced with a thousand possibilities and their possible outcomes. When Amano had returned to his senses the demons head gave the faintest tilt, like a raven watching a human in its territory and after a long quiet moment he spoke. "You are my master, you need not explain any decision to me no matter how large or trivial. If it is against your wishes I can not do it." He spoke gently, that tone of his that was not guarded but educational, informative. "It is a shame you are known to be picky with your partner, it would have been a boon to you." He didn't sound disappointed, more curious than anything, which quickly died as he rolled his shoulder, "I will work around that." With what he intended to say, said he took a step forward and awaited Amano to lead the way back to his home, he could work the plan without a fiancee and he'd need time to plan the adventure itself. So much to do, it was a good thing most demons chose not to sleep or they would never be ready in time, a suit had to be tailored, a documenter hired, a scabbard created and supplies readied and loaded upon the ship. Luggage to pack and money to raise while they also needed to win the fathers approval, grudging or otherwise. A mountain of work but it would take next to no time when he could finally move around properly again.
