The one problem with STEM is how conceited we all are about how good STEM is.Now that I've been getting into Engineering Education with my research I've noticed that we do pull a lot from the humanities (At least for their theories). I'm not talking about in the industry, but we definitely need the humanities on the Academic side of things.
I agree, and love studying subjects in all corners of academia - the whole sciences vs. humanities thing has just become an inside joke among my friend group. I think that it's important overall for people in either corner to take an active interest in the other. There's always knowledge and skills that can be appropriated and applied to one's own field and interests. Hell, there are huge problems with articulation and effective communication in the scientific community sometimes, and many could do with learning something from English majors.
