He slept in the midst of fire and chaos. When it seemed like all the world had broken and literally exploded, he felt it as clear as day. A heavy jarring at his side sent a shockwave of pain through his shoulder down, and then a few moments of feeling the thick air wash over him before he hit something hard and rough with a cry, then felt gravity pull him down to the earth's rather rough embrace. Owie... He awoke with tired eyes, aching and hurting all over. A young boy rose up to a sitting position with a few pained groans and breaking winces, a little aside from the steaming crater. He clutched at his right side and back which seemed to ache the most out of all his sore body. However, he looked physically fine. He sighed a little, not bothering to even try and stand up as he tried to clear his head. He looked out all around him when he no longer fault as exhausted and fatigued. He saw the forest, the grassy path, and most notably the crater billowing with steam. The boy looked up through the canopy of leaves, and saw blue sky daintily dotted with white wispy clouds. The sight somehow brought a smile to his face as he unconsciously reached up to touch the sky, but falling mortally short by a long shot.
