Cateline had tried desperately to keep those around her from leaving. But they saw no point in staying. What if their fate was to match her parents? What if they were to be slain too? But she had escaped. She had been down in the kitchen instead of in bed. Now, she spent her time in hiding. She came up for brief periods of time, to take food and candles with her down to the basement. She didn't want to be caught any where when they came in the night.. Cateline desperately wanted to leave. But servants and looters took the horses, the carriages, anything that wasn't nailed down... But they were coming back for that.. She didn't want to risk being alone in forest, or any where for that matter. So she stayed, hoping, and praying that someone could save her. A family member, a family friend, someone would come looking for her. Hearing the familar sound of crunching glass under boots, Cateline looked up. Her heart pounded heavily against her chest, and she could fell her breathing getting shallow. She gathered up her night gown, it being the lightest garment she owned, and the few candles she had managed to find before starting to run. They were here. And they couldn't find her. She had to make her way back down to the basement, where she had been making her shelter, hiding what she could that she felt was precious to her, or her family, mostly photos and a few trinkets. "Please, please, please.." She whispered to herself, her bare feet crunching on some of the glass as she ran.
