Danny stared at the people gathered, most more than a foot taller than her, eyes wider than she ever made them. She moved her unblinking stare to the biggest man as he and the captain noticed the other ship, announcing it was a slaver ship. She glanced around at the crew gathered, rubbing at her wrists. She still wasn't quite registering what was happening around her, but she backed away from the cutlass, realizing it was for her to fight with a second too late. Panicked, she scrambled up with it, nodding to show her understanding of the situation. Prove herself useful, protect the ship and show loyalty. She could do those things. Another man looked to her and commanded her to help with the cannons. Dropping her bag, Danny placed the cutlass into her belt, running to the cannons and, with a bit of difficulty, started to load cannons with the shots. She didn't know which shot from which, but she tried her best to sneak peeks at the others, or simply guess. Her head snapped to the side as the harpoon splintered the wood. "captain, we'd better prepare for boarders. Load up the guns with grapeshot. We'll give these bastards a nasty surprise they'll never forget." Danny glanced at him, then to the cannons and their shots and finally to the rope connecting the two ships. She smiled, sighing as if she knew what she was gonna do was stupid. "Don't shoot me!" She shouted, moving above the rope and springing over the railing, letting herself fall. It wasn't far down until she gripped the rope, though, moving in such a way so her arms and legs were wrapped around it. She took a second more to gather both her strength and courage, before shimming her way across and onto the other ship's deck. She took another second to fumble the Cutlass out of her belt and sliced at someone with it, surprised and pleased with herself she managed so well with it. Danny continued to fight through the crowd, nimbly moving around in ways to evoke friendly fire, letting the crew take care of their own for her, as she wasn't as skilled as she would have liked to be with blades bigger than a dagger. The more she sliced at the men coming at her, the wider her grin got, until she started giggling. It was her first fight on the sea, and she could go for hours more if need be. She rammed the Cutlass forward into someone's abdomen and moved to pull it back, only to find it stuck. Her smile disappeared again as panic over took her face. "No, no! Give it back!" She let go as another man swung at her arms, making a growling sound. She dropped to the deck as he swung again, causing the bigger man to trip over her. She sucked in a breath and stood up as the boat lurched from being hit by the pirate ship's cannons. Danny's eyes searched the bodies, but she couldn't spot the cutlass. "Dammit no! I need to give that back!" She muttered, frantically moving past the men until she spotted someone familiar, the giant man who untied her. He was going under deck, and it clicked in her head that he would go to save the slaves onboard. Others were heading down after him, none looking to friendly. Danny made a yelping noise as she move out of the way just in time to avoid being impaled on a sword. Instinctively, she twisted, using the momentum to bring her fist towards her victim faster. Danny had expected to connect with his chest, but instead her fist drove itself into the softer flesh of the stomach. Without hesitating, as the man moved forward in surprise from the blow, Danny gripped his arm and hand above the sword, continuing to move forward to bite the man's wrist. As she did, he howled out in pain and let the sword go, allowing Danny to pry it completely from his hands, dislodging herself from him and swinging the blade more like a child would a stick to connect it to the man's shoulder. Stumbling back, Danny sucked in a breath, regaining her footing from the attack.
