Jessalyn - House - Floyd, Abram Jess' face fell when Floyd left the room. How did she always manage to upset him? She had tried her best not to. She was afraid for him. She was afraid for all of them. Her first thought was to go after him, but then she figured she would probably just upset him more. So she left him alone for now, hoping he would realize later that she had been trying to help. Getting up from the table, she went in search of Abarm. Once she found him she forced a friendly smile, even though she was feeling awful. "We... I," she amended. "I would very much appreciate you staying until Floyd is stronger, to take the pressure off of him so he can focus on healing. If you would like to that is." ------------- A little later Jessalyn ventured outside. It was quiet and calm. Birds were singing and she could see squirrels hopping through the trees. Jess walked around the house, looking it over. She might not be able to do much physical labor, but she could at least note where the house needed to be fixed up and made stronger. The foundation was concrete, so there was no chance of walkers or anyone else getting under the house. The windows needed to be reinforced, but the structure itself looked good. On the side of the house she found an overgrown garden bed of what looked like flowers and herbs and a few vegetables. She could make out tomatoes, carrots and wild onions. Getting down on her knees was slow and a little hard but she managed it. From that spot she started pulling weeds. There was a metal spike with a sign on it set in the ground. The sign said "God's work is found in a garden". Removing the sign, she kept the metal spike in her hand in case of an attack by either walker, raider or animal. There was some kind of shed behind the house, but she figured she could explore that later. Hopefully it hadn't been picked clean and there were some tools to be found inside of it. By the time she had cleared out a good sized area of the garden it was very hot outside. Getting up was very difficult, but she managed after a few minutes. She had never felt the pregnancy weight more then she did right now. There was a sheen of sweat across her forehead, her hair was sticking to her face and her skin was pink and on it's way to being sunburned. Her hands were dirty and red and her fingers were sore. Jess waddled into the kicthen, getting a wash clothe and wetting it with some water from the bottle. She wiped her face, neck and shoulders. She wondered how close they were to a swamp or bayou. Rinsing off in the water sounded very nice to her right now. If she took one of the guns, maybe she could go without bothering Floyd. He had seemed like he wanted his space right now. The gun that Abram had given Floyd was still on the table and it had a few rounds in it. Jess picked it up and held it in her hand, getting a feel for the weight of it. It felt strange in her hand, very awkward.
