Mercy Mercy hesitated at the door as she waited for the redhead to respond, she was rather relieved when the young girl said she would come with her. Mercy wasn't very good at seeing danger, she often allowed herself to be lulled into a false sense of security even in these troubled times. "That would be great, two sets of eyes are always better than one" She smiled at the redhead, warmth clinging to her soft blue eyes she knew Ash would scorn her for it but she trusted the small girl...she saw no other choice in this situation anyway. She felt a pang of guilt at the girls words, her brow creased as she studied the redhead for a moment, she was a child though. Being a kid isn't really an option anymore She watched the redhead scan the room, probably searching for a weapon. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to undermine you. From now on we can be in this together, I've got your back and you've got mine?" Mercy offered voicing her trust in the girl and offering to treat her as an equal, with equal responsibility. The woman’s words were true though she knew it would be a while before she would be able to completely suppress her protective nature. She waited patiently for the girl to prepare herself, pressing her ear against the door listening intently. She glanced at the redhead as she spoke, noting the broomstick weapon she nodded in approval her mouth curving into a small smile as the young girl finally gave her a name. "It’s ok, given the circumstances I can forgive you" She jested, subconsciously expressing her nerves through humour for in reality she really didn’t want to open this door...she could deal with what was in this room she feared she couldn't deal with what lie ahead. Still with trembling hands she pushed the door open, her face crinkling in disgust at the rancid smell that met them as they slid through the opening. She was unable to crouch to close to the floor as they moved through the shop because of the bow slung across her back but she was careful enough to keep her head down. She hesitated as she heard Olivia whisper behind her, her eyes skimmed over the lurker laid across from them she felt her breath hitch in her throat as she looked at the creature it no longer looked human to her, she couldn't think of it as a human. "Yes" She breathed almost inaudibly, her throat was painfully dry and her heart was beating so fast she was sure her companion could hear it. She had barely shuffled forward when the redhead’s voice cut into the silence a second time, warning her to wait she cast her gaze behind them before slowly lifting herself up just enough that she could peer over the top of the aisle they were hiding behind, her eyes focusing on the door at the store front, first she noticed a figure stood by the doorway secondly she realized it was ajar, her eyes quickly scanned the rest of the shop, apart from the lurker across from them she couldn’t see any movement, she ducked back down. "There’s someone outside...” Mercy whispered to Olivia her voice little more than a soft hum. “I’m just going to check it out...it may be a human” Mercy stated to the redhead, her face a mixture of hope and dread as she contemplated her course of action, it turned out to be a simple one not giving herself a chance to stew on her decision she lurched out from behind the shelves straight into the path of another woman. Her breath hitched in her throat and she instantly raised her hands to defend herself thinking it to be the figure from the door, she held the hammer tightly ready to swing it should it not be a person but high enough she could block an incoming blow. Surprising people like this nowadays was a sure way to get a pipe to the head. "Wait!" She exclaimed barely keeping her voice down surprise apparent in her actions, as she flinched away from the woman. Tamashii Tamashii raised an eyebrow at him as he thanked her; she hadn’t even offered him the same courtesy. She looked down at the shooter as the brown haired guy spoke to her, studying his appearance for a moment before scanning their surroundings. “It was a good call...waiting” She mumbled to him in answer to his statements, a frown etched its way onto her face she was growing restless as he knelt down to check the man over, knowing she needed to be aware of everything was one thing but not having Mercy within her sights was slowly eating at away at her, the last time this had happened...Tamashii was pulled from her thoughts by her companion's observations. “Either that or he decided he didn’t want to live in this hell” She shrugged at him, folding her arms across her chest pressing her blade against her wrist as she glanced around them feeling uneasy at being so casually out in the open. “I can’t believe it; he literally must have just got out of the bath” She voiced what they were both thinking, a slightly envious hint to her words what she wouldn’t give to feel safe enough to take a bath... She shook her head stepping back from the man and scanning the area around them for any signs of danger careful to keep her back turned towards the house, her hazel eyes were tense as she listened to his questions instantly she wanted to get back to Mercy, but it would be foolish to pass up the opportunity to check through this guys house as she opened her mouth to answer he near enough took the words right off of her tongue. She pursed her lips as he asked her to stand watch, studying him for a moment before she nodded her head curtly, moving towards the door of the house, making sure her back was to the building as her companion walked through the door, she felt uneasy about this though she had her eyes peeled for anymore of the undead, she was sure there were more drawing closer to them with each second. Her paranoia made her occasionally check the windows of the nearby houses as well, how could they be sure this guy was alone anyway? What am I doing out here? She dropped one of her hands to rest on the gun at her waist, she couldn’t shift her feeling of unease as she waited. “Hey, are you nearly done?” She called softly through the door, her hand twitching up in a reflexive motion as he appeared in the doorway. She exhaled and stepped back from the door allowing him through it, she listened to what he said unable to prevent another frown creasing her expression. Enough for the 4 of us? We’re a group now? She reached up to her face pushing a strand of her fringe behind her ear. “Remy hmm? I suppose its faster to say then Vest guy” She acknowledged his name, her jaw was tight and her brow was creased it wasn’t easy to decipher whether she had meant that in a humorous manner or not. She cast her glance around them one last time before following after him as he moved away. “We should get back to the others” She kept her eyes peeled as she walked beside him. “Remy...” She murmured his name glancing at him without moving her head. “I feel like we’re being watched” She whispered to him, her hand had remained on the handle of her hand gun the whole time, her other hand gripping her trusty combat knife. As the rock sailed past her head she jolted her hand up, her gun in her hand as she spun on the spot her gun already held in a ready position to shoot should she need to, her finger hovered over the trigger as her eyes zeroed in on the Hispanic woman. Her gaze remained hard as she watched the woman smile and wave, though expected her expression to change when she saw the brandished firearm. Tamashii’s other hand slipped the combat knife into her belt quickly before she lifted it to support her handgun, it was a curious predicament they found themselves in. Last time she had been pointing this gun at Remy...Mercy had convinced her to give him a chance, the other woman wasn’t here now. “Who the hell are you?” Tamashii growled, already angry with herself for allowing this person to sneak up on them. She cast Remy a very short glare, keeping him within her peripheral vision. How did he miss her? she didn’t like standing with her back towards open ground but this situation left her little choice, she kept her ears peeled for even the slightest sound behind her.
