are there any hard limits or impossibilities such as resurrection?
Yes. Considering death (as believed in this world) moves the soul out of the body and into a separate realm, Resurrection is out of the question. Animating a dead body is possible, but it would be without a soul, like a husk. Although even something like that would require the work of nearly twenty magical individuals with the help of a gem the size of football (which can be hard to come by, as you might imagine). After the cataclysmic destruction of the ancients, the (gods) of the aetheric dimension considerably shrunk the size of the gloran vas of all the races on the mortal plane. In the time of the ancients, things like earthquakes or tornadoes could by created by merely three people, but now to do such a task would take upwards of three hundred pouring energy into a catalyst that could direct that energy. They (possibly) exist, such catalysts, but without the information or ability, such massive spells are unreachable. So, impossibilities with magic are as such: -Resurrection -creation of life -cyclic energy sources (replicating things like the sun) There's probably more, but nothing else is coming to mind.
