There's way too many applications to justify anyone having two characters, and I'd rather people focus on one character over two to see if they can handle the load.
I'm guessing I shouldn't bother writing up my notes for my illicitly mercantile volus in the form of a CS, then? ;-; I'll submit the notes anyway, to be used as an NPC if anyone wants to - honestly, he'll probably work better in that capacity, considering how physically inept the volus are. It was fun and good practice coming up with the character anyway.
Char#2: The Merchant - Non-combat character. Male volus. - The volus are famed for their mercantile skill, and so any criminal outfit would do well to employ one of the less scrupulous of their kind. Whether it be for untraceable and efficient procurement of illegal goods, for financial trickery to hide or transfer illicit payments or funds, or even for simple organisational capacity, a capable volus is an asset to any team. When that team is, in fact, seeking to fight the lawful side directly, the need for invisible, swift obtainment of supplies and equipment through channels other than the straightforward ones becomes absolutely vital. - As shown in the wiki (volus apparently provide auxiliary troops to the turians) and the ME3 multiplayer DLC that allows one to play as one, volus can fight and be soldiers, even if typically they are truly unsuited for it. As such, The Merchant is almost useless in the field, but not completely - either minor biotic ability or some capability with technology would allow them to be an adept/engineer of sorts in a "support class" sort of fashion. They can survive in the field, barely - their powers and talents would have to surround subterfuge and defense. This gets around the horrendously impractical aspects of the volus when it comes to RPs like this. - Why join the group? Because A) This volus likes making a tidy profit on the side through illicit activity in the Terminus systems, and B) the volus hate the fact that they have never been offered a Council seat despite their contributions to galactic society (namely, the entire economic system). For the Systems Alliance to begin disrupting the status quo in their arrogance, being seen as the Council's favourites (it is no secret the Council admire humanity's military strength), already having an embassy... it would get right up the volus' noses, which we see reflected in the game when they interact with Shepard. It makes sense for one like The Merchant to want to rebel against their meddling, even though they're doing it via proxy, through Siame.
