It's as you say. This is a great circumstance that has everyone together in one place so will give you guys the chance to talk to each other even if they wouldn't have normally. That will break the ice to start some relationships brewing. Hopefully it will be good friendships rather than bitter enemies. Just don't steal the Queen's sweet roles. *glares dramatically at you all

To get unstuck in your post, see if someone else in specific wants to mingle with your character and it can give you ideas how to proceed. Maybe while he's guarding he could be near the queen or some character is too eager in getting up to her so you intercept them? Not that I see any of these characters like a crazy fan, as funny as that would be. If not a civilian than there are plenty of other guards around that he'd certainly have the chance to talk too...you could even work together to wressle back a crazy fan who's an NPC! Show off your skills in a funny manner and have a tale to remember sharing with the other guards.
