50 years after Commander Shepard used the Crucible to destroy the Reapers, the galaxy is rebuilding. Many of the Mass Relays have been repaired and the Citadel is being rebuilt over Earth. The remainder of Cerberus has fled to the Terminus Systems where they are gathering strength under the leadership of the new Illusive Man. A new widespread religion has swept through the galaxy, the Reaper Cult. Followers of the Cult believe the Reapers came to the galaxy to destroy the weak and uplift the powerful, they believe that with the help of Reaper technology they will conquer the galaxy. It has become the official religion of Cerberus. The four council races are weakened. The Systems Alliance is struggling in a massive civil war against a separatist movement of colonies in the Terminus and Attican Traverse. The Salarian Union and the new Krogan Republic of United Clans (the KRUC) are on the verge of war as rumors of Salarian scientists trying to re-create the Genophage has been released on the galaxy. The Asari government has split into multiple factions all fighting each other over religious strife, some holding to the old faith of the goddess, some worshiping the Protheans, some strictly atheist, and radicals who believe in the Reaper Cult. The Turian Hierarchy is being invaded by all three major Terminus mercenary groups for Fotus Gattican's "claim" on the Primarchy. In other parts of the galaxy, the Hanar and Drell have allied themselves with the endangered Batarians in an attempt to grow in strength and ask the weakened council races to allow the Hanar to be represented on the council. The Quarians and Geth are building massive cities on Rannoch and are largely staying out of galactic politics, they have isolated themselves and are using their massive fleets to blockade the planet to ward off the risk of any invasion. On the planet Ilos scientists from multiple races are cloninging old Prothean remains to recreate the Prothean species. Javik now leads the hundreds of Prothean clones as they try to settle the planet and regain some of their past glory. However most Prothean clones die within a few years. The council has put together a Spectre strike team in an attempt to stabilize galactic politics. We will be the new Spectres as they try to stop the multiple galactic wars on board our new ship the Normandy SR 3. We are the youngest and brightest in the galaxy and will engage in diplomacy, espionage, and direct front line combat. Rules: 1.) I want a nice, fun and enjoyable environment. That means if you want to argue with the other players do it somewhere else. This is to ensure enjoyment for all players. 2.) Players must post on a regular basis. If you don't post for two weeks without explanation your character will be killed off to make room for new RPers. 3.) This will be a light mature RP. Meaning that cursing is acceptable in moderation. (Meaning dropping the F-bomb is allowed but I don't want to read a full paragraph of profanity.) Also you can have romance between characters but make it have a purpose to the story. Also I don't want to find myself reading porn, sex is okay but we don't need all the details. 4.) I will accept any ideas from any of the RPers. I might not always use your ideas but I am willing to listen. Constructive criticism is very accepted. Don't be afraid to put some twists of your own in the story. My planned story arch will adjust. 5.) Please do not make over powered characters. I want to see wounds every once in awhile. If you're feeling dramatic you can even kill off a character. (Provided said character is either your own or an NPC that I approve of being killed.) 6.) Most importantly have fun! Here we have the Character sheet. Name: Race: Call sign/ nickname: (optional) Age: Weight: Height: Appearance: Personality: (Keep it interesting. No strong silent types.) Class: Powers: Biography: Characters Vandy:
Name: Galen Kaiser Race: Turian Call sign/ nickname: Captain Age: 29 Weight: 203 lbs. Height: 7 foot Appearance: Personality: Galen is quite sarcastic for a Turian but a natural leader. He brings a cocky attitude into battle and diplomacy alike, and while this quality can get on the nerves of both his enemies and his superiors he always seems to get the job done. Even with his "unprofessional" attitude he has risen in ranks out of sheer tactical genius and combat skills. After all no Turian will argue with results. He leads his troops from the front, always willing to put his own life at risk in order to save his men or innocents. While most would not think it at first glance, he has a strict moral code. Galen strives to do the right thing and has been known to disobey orders on moral grounds. He has been called everything from sarcastic prick to brilliant hero. He has a cold hatred toward the Reaper Cult and any of its followers, and will not hesitate to "inform" Cultists of his opinion. Galen is strict we he needs to be and knows when to give his men a rest. Galen is also a shrewd diplomat despite his slightly arrogant nature. Class: Sentinel Powers: Overload, Wrap, tech armor, throw, slam, lift grenade Biography: Born in 21 A.B.E to the Turian admiral Marcus Kaiser and his wife Sila, Galen grew up around the high ranks of the Turian military. His mother and father pushed him through the best military academies of the Turian Hierarchy since he was four years old. He was seen by instructors and students alike as the most gifted young Turian in his class. He excelled in history, military tactics, and combat simulations without giving much effort. Many instructors began to see him as a lazy sarcastic ass, but the best and brightest sarcastic ass they had ever seen in their lives. Throughout his teens, Galen was put into gifted classes in the military academy on Palaven. There he met his closest friends, Spiros Vandarin and his sister Emala. The three soon became the top scoring squad in all areas of the training simulations. By the time Galen was sixteen, it was determined that he had biotic potential. He was trained away from the other students in the academy with the other few biotic prospects. While he wasn't the best biotic student (something his father considered a failure in his son) he was gifted. When his training was completed at the age of 18, he was reunited with Spiros and Emala. They were each granted the title of lieutenant and assigned to the Turina war ship Bakas. Galen spent his next three years fighting Reaper Cult terrorists who were bombing some of the weaker Turian colonies. He won multiple commendations for brave actions against these terrorists and eventually assassinated their leader. The threat was thought to be ended. At 26 he married his long time friend Emala Vandarin. Galen was granted command of the Bakas and made his new wife his XO. Galen was placed under the command of his father in the 8th fleet along with the Garnicus, the vessel that Spiros now captained. For a year the Turian empire lived in relative peace until the start of the claim war. A Turian who was a member of the Reaper Cult had employed Blue Suns, Eclipse, and Blood Pack to invade the empire for his "right" to the Primarchy. In one battle over Menae, the Garnicus was destroyed and Spiros was killed. Not being able to live with the grief of her brother being dead, Emala commited suicide. She was pregnant. When Galen was 28, he was offered command of a Dreadnought class starship by his father. Instead he retired from the Turian military and was offered a job as a Spectre by the CItadel council. He accepted and for a year he completed many missions on the behalf of the council. Soon he was offered command of the Normandy SR-3, a ship to be crewed by the best new Spectres the council had to offer. He would lead the highly deadly strike team on its mission to restore galactic peace. A job easier said than done.
Silver Fox:
Name System 42009874563001 Call Sign Phalanx Race Geth Age 1895 CE The Geth War (basically old) Gender Synthetic Life form. Considers itself Female. Creed Silently in, Victorious out Official Personal Description: The synthetic life form stands a total of six feet and eight inches and two hundred pounds. The metal coloring being a dark blue with black interior. A silver star sticker is placed on its forehead above the bright glowing blue glass eye. Has a silver keychain with a diamond locket attached to the hilt of its sniper rifle. Phalanx is somewhat odd compared to its fellow synthetic life forms. Since the beginning, there had always been that hint of humanity that only increased when the Geth Hero Legion sacrificed himself to give them their own will. Curious and resourceful, Phalanx can always be seen studying on organics and asking frequent questions. Clever and resourceful, it swiftly calculates situations and doesn't hesitate to speak its suggestions or even strangely its opinions. It does seem to have a kind approach and seems to always pick saving innocent lives, even going for the reckless approach in endangering its own life. Phalanx has a sense of justice, believing there is always good in each life form, be it organic or synthetic. It always tries to not be judgmental and treat everyone equally. But will not hesitate to punish those who it deems needs it. Often, Phalanx is torn between what is logical and what is the right thing to do. Armor Slightly extra metal coating to protect from hazard atmosphere conditions. Weapons Geth Pulse Sniper Rifle X Geth Pulse Shotgun X Omni-Tool Speciality Infiltrator Powers Incinerate AI Hacking Disrupter Ammo Cyro Ammo Tactical Cloak Electronics Operative Homeworld Rannoch History Phalanx was one of the many Geth's to survive The Geth War. Much like Legion, it was a special class to be made for adventuring and interacting with life forms, without the knowledge of the Creators. Yet after the war, it remained on the world Rannoch to simply archive messages from Legion. Organic life had always fascinated the synthetic being, despite how the Creators had tried to destroy them. There were those who died protecting them, and this confused Phalanx. There were those who cared and those who feared. Why? Did they not form the same consensus as the Geth did? Their different views had caused one another's death and such a thing seemed illogical. Phalanx found itself simply grow more curious with these actions, and spent many years studying the Creator's books on the home planet. Studying all the knowledge it could muster and didn't know and sharing such knowledge with its fellow comrades. Then the Old Machines came, making promises to the Geth that they would be free to do what the wish and come out from hiding. Most did not welcome such a thing, not wishing for war. Yet others did... Which was also surprising to Phalanx. Being one of the many to refuse the offer, Phalanx remained and watched as the comrade, later named Legion, was sent on the mission to investigate the organics outside the Veil. Phalanx found itself eagerly awaiting the information from Legion, especially when he met Commander Shepard. Reading over the information and watching video archives, Phalanx only grew more curious of organics. Humans were known for their emotional state and often confusing other races. Shepard would give criminals chances when they did not deserve it, give up chasing a criminal to save innocent lives... That in later years the kind favors were returned. It was a mystery... Illogical.. Yet to interesting and inspiring. When Shepard and the Creators came to Rannoch, Phalanx was the first to eagerly greet them, despite the tension between the races. Despite wishing to join in the Reaper War and assist the great hero, Phalanx remained on Rannoch to assist the Creators in making the planet their home once more. Even using its own conscious to assist volunteer Creators to adjust their frail bodies to the Rannoch air. After the war was done, the Geth were forced to shut off, their functions failing. Despite this, the Quarians worked to fix their once enemy. In order to repay them for giving their home back. It took many years, but eventually the Geth were operational and Phalanx woke up from its long slumber. Being one who managed to service the Old Machines destruction. Phalanx requested to travel on its own on solo missions to distinguish criminals as well as interact with friendly organics. Phalanx was a obvious choice, showing a friendly approach to other races. About a about ten years later, Phalanx was assigned to a special mission by the Superior Geth Unit. Phalanx was to protect a wealthy human family, in order to increase diplomatic relations between the two races. In return, Geth would offer technology while humans offered their culture history. Agreeing, Phalanx stayed at the families wealthy home and guarding their lives. The father and mother were always out at work, they had three children, two of which were adults and hardly cared for Phalanx's presence. Everyone saw the Geth as a simple tool to use. But, the youngest daughter at the age of five named Clara adored the synthetic life form. Clara often played with Phalanx, since her siblings never did want to play. At a young age, she stuck a silver star shaped sticker on top of Phalanx's head, deeming it a sign of their friendship. Phalanx was a bit confused but agreed none the less. Curious of how human children act and grow. They spent many years together, Phalanx discovering true raw emotions yet not understanding them. Yet it learned how to act like a human, how to make other races feel even a little more comfortable around it. Learning manners and proper ways to speak with others. Everything seemed alright until finally, Phalanx was called out by the Geth Councilor to attend a certain mission. Before Phalanx left, Clara gave the machine a silver keychain with a diamond gem locket. Keeping the gift around the hilt of its trusty sniper rifle, Phalanx left to plan out the mission. Days later, Phalanx found the terrorist ship and infiltrated it. Making a smooth entry and set the ship to self destruct. After escaping, it suddenly received a distress signal that informed Phalanx that Clara had been captured by the targeted terrorist group. Dread and panic set in as Phalanx realized before watching the ship explode. Feeling a sense of desperation, ignoring survival rate calculations, the Geth unit searched the wreckage. By some miracle, Phalanx found her torn apart blacken body. In reality, Clara was dead, but Phalanx refused to let that happen. Taking the torn body on board, Phalanx experimented and created off what it had, a cyborg of sorts. A sick, twisted one that could hardly move... But somehow, Phalanx had salvaged Clara's conscious. Returning to the Citadel, Phalanx gave Clara to the hospital before being yelled at by her family. Being accused of for making Clara a monster. A abomination. Ever since then, Phalanx was forbidden to ever see its friend. Years passed and Phalanx continued to do solo missions, until a request came to the Spectres to end the growing plight in the galaxy.
Silly Cybin:
Name: Syral Kiera Gender: Male Race: Drell Age: 35 Weight: 168lbs Height: 6'2" Weapons: M-76 Revenant Assault Rifle, Black Carnifex Hand Cannon, Silver Appearance: Syral is large for a Drell, being of a slightly wider build than most of his kind and noticeably taller than average, but is still fairly lean when compared to a human of his height. He wears a small vial of water around his neck, apparently actual water from the vast oceans of Kahje, the Hanar homeworld. He has a large scar in the shape of a D carved onto the flesh of his back. When on the ship he wears a black leather jacket with an N7 insignia on the back with a dark green t-shirt underneath, with quite slim black trousers and black combat boots. When in combat he wears a charcoal black suit of Kestrel armour (sans helmet) with turqoise trim and a pair of targeting optimisation goggles with turqoise lenses and charcoal black frame. Personality: Unlike Drell raised under Hanar tutelage, Syral is fairly outspoken and even quite foul-mouthed when he wants to be. He uses language colourfully and expressively and makes friends quickly, possessing a self-confident and slightly sarcastic manner of speaking. He is however impatient and finds it difficult to think of the big picture, preferring to see positive results of actions in the immediate future. In combat he is impulsive but creative, finding alternate ways to defeat the enemy, possessing a good mind for operating under pressure. He has a problem respecting authority, and is quick to speak if he disagrees with a plan on moral grounds or on tactical grounds. Whilst he is outspoken, he has trouble talking about difficult memories, knowing that at any second he could slip into an eidetic memory and relive it all again. His biggest flaw, however, is a deep innate fear that he'll fail the people who trust him, this makes him second-guess himself in important decisions whilst on a mission. He also, uncommonly for a Drell, has a pronounced distrust of the Hanar, believing them to be robbing his people of their culture, whilst being unconsciously very disconnected from the culture he speaks of. Class: Vanguard Powers: Biotic Charge, Biotic Punch, Barrier, Biotic Cluster Grenade (Carries 3), Marksman, Fitness, Advanced Armour Biography: Syral was born 15 years after the Reaper invasion of Earth to Dyren and Sila Kiera, Drell operatives working underneath the Hanar sent to monitor human culture. It was a difficult birth that led to his mother being very ill for several weeks, but she recovered, though she alwaysseemed weaker to Dyren after that point; more fragile. Only 2 years after his birth his father finally fell to Kepral's Syndrome, a problem he had been keeping from Syral and Sila. The death was sudden and unexpected, giving Syral an early understanding of mortality, far too early. His mother became even more reserved after that, she rarely left the apartment, the Hanar state sending a generous sum of credits for all of Dyren's work. His mother scoffed at this, claiming they forced him to do dangerous, often immoral work out of a sense of cultural obligation. Sila instilled this attitude into young Syral. At the age of 4 Syral started in public education. The school he attended wasn't really the best, but he excelled at the studies of history, finding the human history pre-space flight fascinating. He also excelled at reading, becoming the proud holder of the top reading level in his class. This, as well as his race in an otherwise all human school, isolated him from the rest of the children somewhat. They were welcoming enough, but he could always tell (even at that age) that they didn't really trust him; hell, even their parents had probably never seen an alien in person. He did make two friends, though. Sara and John, fraternal twins. They sat with him the second week and began asking questions about his culture, inquisitvely, enthusiastically and politely. He gladly told them, and eventually the three were inseperable. This friendship lasted into their early teens, the three attending the same Secondary School. They occasionally visited him at his family's apartment, though his mother was always vaguely distant and unwelcoming, letting the children get up to their own affairs. One day, she confronted him. Just after they left after having come over for dinner, she picked him up by the collar and held him against a wall. She railed at him for thirty minutes, screaming about how he wasn't one of them, about how he's forgetting his true heritage and becoming a human with a Reptilian complexion. Syral ran away from home, the only place he thought to go being John and Sara's house. The family knew him and welcomed him, and him and Sara in particular became closer than ever. Her older brother Stephen didn't like this one bit; their grandfather had been a soldier in Cerberus, and he felt Sara was disrespecting their family by associating with an alien to such a degree. He cornered Syral one day with a kitchen knife whilst drunk, saying he was going to brand Syral. When Syral asked what he meant, Stephen said it was a piece of advice. "Don't fucking do it". He was going to carve it onto Syral's back. He had only finished the D by the point Syral snapped and used his biotics to slam Stephen into the opposing wall, breaking his arm. They didn't speak to him after that. Stephen claimed Syral attacked him in a fit of "alien fury". Syral didn't even try to explain the misunderstanding, but Sara could see through it. Shortly after this event, Syral was taken to a Biotic Training Camp, fitting with an implant, and taught the military way of life. He learned how to use his powers offensively and in conjunction with other weapons, it was here he discovered his eagle-eye, which more than made up for his average Biotic ability. He graduated from the camp after a couple of years, and immediately signed up with the Alliance, having finally found a place he was accepted unconditionally, the Alliance more pro-alien than ever before having survived the Reaper crisis due to race cooperation alone. It was unconventional for a non-human to join the Alliance, but the N7 program during the war had opened its arms to multiple races, so of course the Alliance had followed suit in special cases. He was deployed on a variety of special operations, each a satisfactory success, until a raid on a Weapons Plant ran by the Blue Suns mercenary group. He chose the wrong course of action in his eyes, choosing to sacrifice hostage's lives for Alliance interests. Whilst he was awarded for this, the guilt weighed heavily on his soul. He's spent several nights sleepless replaying the moment in his memory over and over, the look of fear and hysteria in the eyes of the hostages. He was offered a place on the N7 program and he gladly accepted, hoping it would be a fresh start for him. It was. Syral managed to impress the right people, because he was awarded N7 status. The crown jewel of his accomplishments was freeing a new "danger vacation" hotel on the border of the Traverse from Vorcha raiders, there only being one casualty out of two hundred guests. He was given a choice: gain a position of command in the Alliance Fleet, or be requested to be put on the Spectre program. After a day of soul-searching he chose the Spectres, being sick of having to answer to those who valued results over lives. A few weeks later he was assigned to the Normandy SR3, a symbol of hope for the declining Galaxy.
Malan:
Name: Pai Min Race: Human Call sign/ nickname: The White Lotus (Well, Min tries to get people to call her this. She also likes Lady Shadow and Agent Zero) Age: 27 Weight: 110 lbs Height: 5'6'' Appearance: Personality: Min is naturally deceitful. She likes lying to people and enjoys a certain thrill when they believe her lies. She's a daredevil and finds excitement through violence and danger, wherever she can find it. She boxes as a hobby and is strong despite her small size, and often will hustle men at bars by challenging them to fights. She gets bored easily and is hyperactive. She always dreams of being out in the field and often has dreams of grandeur where she fantasizes herself as being the next Commander Shepard. Shepard is her personal hero. She also can relate to Kasumi Goto and basically sees Kasumi as her evil counterpart (In a good way? In the sense that she want to be independent and daring). Min has a penchant for acting and has played both Kasumi and Shepard in plays before (And once Wrex, but that was a really weird play). She is very social and is uncomfortable being in total silence. She'll always try to lighten the mood any way she can. Although she's social, because of her job she views friendships as a hassle. Although she works with technology, she absolutely despises it and always wishes she could be the kind of person who uses shotguns and charges into battle. Class: Engineer (Operative) Powers: Decryption, Hacking, Electronics, Fitness Biography: Min was born in a small fringe colony of humans. She always dreamed of seeing the world and solving injustices. As soon as she turned 18 she left the colony to go to the Citadel, where she worked with C-Sec for two years. She never liked being a cop, but it satisfied her urge to see the world and meet new people. When that wonder associated with C-Sec faded away, Min quit the force and joined a private corporation, Discovery Co. Discovery Co. was basically a private investigative service, but on a larger scale. Min would infiltrate companies, corporations, cults, gangs, drug rings, and even governments when hired to do so, and uncover their dirt. Discovery Co. would then sell that to whoever hired them, who would use it either for blackmail or to have the group exposed (if a secret criminal operation) or arrested/shut down (if corporate rivals). Min did that for four years, where she became one of Discovery Co.'s best agents. She loved infiltrating these groups and sleuthing around and gaining their trust until she had access to their secrets. Min was always the subject of assassination attempts after she came out of being undercover. Once, three years ago, an assassin broke into her apartment on Illium where she was working to reveal a child slavery ring and shot her three times. Min managed to kill him, but was hospitalized for four months. In order to protect herself, Min quit Discovery Co. She was then contacted by the illusive Shadow Broker. (S)he liked Min's work and promised her protection should she act as an undercover operative for hire in the Shadow Broker's employment. Min received much better pay working for the Shadow Broker, but her work really didn't change, except she found that she was acting as spy more often. She successfully infiltrated the Alliance by posing as a senator and uncovering a black op intended to assassinate an anti-human Turian extremist who was gaining political success on the Citadel. Last month Min was released from the Shadow Broker's service very suddenly. Little did she know that the Council had made a deal with the Broker and bought Min's services. The Shadow Broker was fond of Min and fudged her record by eliminating any record of government infiltration, which made her attractive to the Council. Min was made a Spectre immediately, becoming the tenth Human Spectre in history. Min was overjoyed, believing that this was her chance for adventure and action that she couldn't get pretending to be some criminal mastermind's secretary or a corrupt businessman's intern.
Leodiensian
Name: Harken Calibos Race: Turian Call sign/Nickname: Churchill Age: 34 Weight: 190 lbs Height: 7" 1 Appearance: Like most Turians, Harken is tall and spindly in his built, covered in thick skin. He is of fairly average height and build by Turian standards but significantly tall compared to humans. His natural skin tone is a gunmetal gray. He has replaced his typical clan markings with a mark of a pre-Earth nation he admires, a symbol of imperialist unity, cultural power and historical significance - the union jack. This marks him as something of an outsider or individualist, which are basically the same thing by Turian standards, for denying or disrespecting his clan. He tends to wear typical Turian fashions, although his is a pragmatic choice rather than an aesthetic one, since most human clothes simply don't fit on Turian bodies. Personality: Like most Turians, Harken is a war-nerd. More specifically, Harken finds the military history of humans most interesting. This sometimes makes him seem a bit strange for a Turian, since he ends up coming across as a bit too into humans - their culture, their history, their languages and so on. Like most outside observers to alien cultures, he's still got a lot to learn about stuff humans do but he has more understanding that a lot of his species. Still not as much as he thinks he has, of course. But enough to favour British English as "the proper English", which can stun English-speaking humans who don't expect that level of cultural statement from an outsider. He is quite an astute observer of others, keen to the body language of those around him - even of alien species. This means he quite often picks up on things other people miss, fine details that most simply aren't aware of or at least aware of the meanings behind. By Turian standards, he is something of a renegade and individualist, but human's would have a hard time telling the difference given how strict and uptight they see most Turians as. Harken still has a strong respect for institutions, for authority, the group etc but he doesn't necessarily place the happiness of the group over the individual as automatically as most do. He has to think it's a good idea at least. This means he's more likely to take initiative in the moment than most Turians and responds better to failures in plans or infrastructure than most. He is good at adapting to new circumstances and finds the static circumstances Turians typically enjoy a bit boring. Class: Turian Cabal Powers: Dark Sphere, Singularity, Shockwave, Warp, Overload, Sabotage, Infiltration Cloak Specialty: Saboteur. As a trained Turian Cabal operative, Harken specializes in stealth, close quarters combat and covert ops. His most common combat loadout involves heavy pistols (though often silenced) and sub-machine guns to strike a balance between mobility and firepower. He often uses an upgraded Salarian Scorpion heavy pistol for its precise demolition capabilities. His light duelist armor possesses a refractive coating which can be activated to render him temporarily invisible, allowing him to sneak behind enemy lines and sew havoc on their infrastructure, or to deal critical hits against key targets. Biography: After the battle of Earth, many Turians were stranded on the planet after the severe damage to galactic transport infrastructure, which prevented them from easily returning to Turian systems. However, the fallout from the war also meant a large quantity of Eezo was seeded into the planet atmosphere, contaminating the environment. Harken Calibos' parents, Ahren and Myra, were both survivors of the Battle of Earth who came together in the victorious celebration. Neither were biotics, but the fallout meant that they had both been exposed to considerable amounts of eezo. This naturally led to their children having a high chance of being biotic - even years after the war, their youngest emerged with considerable biotic talents. In their damaged, post-war state, the Turian Hierarchy was eager to identify biotics at an early age and so young Harken was taken from his parents for training at a very young age. Turians also distrust biotics quite severely, so Harken and the other biotic children of his generation were isolated from most children. Normally this isolation wouldn't happen until they joined civil service, but the traumatic events of the Reaper War necessitated a social change and increased focus on social engineering for the next generation. And so Harken was largely raised in institutions, prep schools and academies. He was raised and trained for the role of a biotic in Turian society - a special operative and informant. When he came of age, he was drafted into the military like every Turian but with special missions - he was to observe his fellow trainees and squadmates. The idea was to make sure the other soldiers would always act as if anyone they met might be an observer for the Hierarchy. Once he grew old enough, he was placed into a dedicated Cabal. Cabals are cells of biotics with specialized roles in the Turian military. They are infiltrators and special operatives, trained in infiltration, sabotage, small arms and close quarters tactics. They perform surgical hit-and-run attacks on vital enemy positions, cutting off supply lines or communication networks. A human analogue might be sentinels, due to their combined training in biotic and tech abilities, though with more of the Infiltrator's stealth abilities. They also tend to be kept distant from the mainline Turian troops due to the distrust biotic observers earn in their training. Being kept distant from the groups he had spent so long observing prompted introspection in Harken, causing him to question his loyalties, re-evaluate his priorities. He realized that for all the time he'd spent studying other people, he'd never made an identity for himself. When it became possible to, he left military service and spent some time moving around to find his roots. This involved spending some time on Earth, with his parents and studying much of the local history. He came to consider Earth his home more than any Turian world had been and engrossed himself rapidly in human culture. He in particular became interested in the parallels between the final Battle for Earth and the Battle For Britain in Earth's ancient history, the solidarity the British people had shown in that conflict. He spent some time on the Citadel working as C-Sec, preferring the greater variety and diversity to be found there than the homogeneity of Palaven. So many races, so many individuals working together and developing new cultures and ideals together. He used his Cabal training as an undercover officer, earning great distinction by identifying and subduing a Cerberus terrorist cell planning a bombing on the Council chambers. In recognition for his work, he was promoted out of C-Sec and into the Spectres.
shadowkiller912:
Name Naomi Gagarin Race Human Call sign/ nickname Valkyrie Age 33 Weight 125 Height 5’3 Appearance Katarina average sized Human (for a female). For this, she tries to maintain distant with others while remaining friendly with them. Class Adept Powers Adept Class Powers Biography Lena was born on 2217 on Earth to Constantine Volkova, Sonya Gagarin two Alliance N7’s that fought against the Reapers on Earth. She lived in a Military Base in Alaska and began her schooling with other military children. Being birthed from two Biotics, she was immediately selected into a new Alliance military biotic program known as the New Generation Project or known as the Ascendancy Project which recruited hundreds of kids from Human biotic parents. She began her training on Hecate’s Academy (Starbase) orbiting Phaistos in the Artemis Tau System, Knossos System. Lena along with hundreds of kids began training with their parents. Katarina made lifelong friends at the Academy and was one of the top at her class. The starbase was like a family. Everybody was lived a good life while training to become the Alliance next best Biotic units. When she turned 18, the Alliance looked to putting to work now the trainees from the Ascendancy Project to help fight the Separatist Movement of Human Colonies in the Terminus and the Attican traverse. Lena her nickname Archangel was part of Omicron Squad and her family fought in several battles in the Traverses. Despite that, Lena actions decisions as squad leader of Omicron grew attention from her family. They wondered whether her decisions were right. Many decisions were pragmatic to defeating the enemy, in cases such as abandoning group of Alliance marines in a firefight. Alliance military grew worried of her and thought of pulling her out of service though her skills negated their decisions. Lena would then fall afterwards. During the Battle of Horizon, Omicron Squad engaged in heavy battle with Alliance Marines against the Separatist. Against a large enemy group with their own Separatist Biotic units, her entire squad was eliminated. She saw their faces as they lay dead on the ground and in the end, she went into full rage charging at the enemy, in the battle causing collateral damage to her allies but killing many Separatist in the process, including killing Separatist civilians. After the battle, her family questioned her reckless action but justified it for avenging Omicron Squad. The Alliance chose to keep quiet about and continue employ Lena but planned to reform her in the process so her decisions would be more moral sound but Lena would take a worst turn. Separatist hackers acquired the footage of the Battle of Horizon showing a rage filled Biotic killing civilians, and uploaded it on the net to be known as the Horizon Massacre, or less referred as the Shadow Sea Incident due to It sound more popular to the Separatist. Spliced to that footage only, it emboldened the Separatist against the Alliance and was used in propaganda. The Alliance gained heavy criticism on it and loyalists questioned their war against their Human brethren. Eventually her family along with the Alliance military kicked out Lena. She was angered, and saddened. She was in the galaxy now, alone and with no family. Lena drifted eventually arriving in the Terminus system operating as a Biotic Mercenary under the nickname ViS, a first letter combination of both her parents’ first name with and in the middle to make it sound like a name. She found herself fighting against the Alliance and other powers, to which she encountered members of her own family which she, battled and killed several of them. ViS grew in fame across the Galaxy to which she was approached by Cerberus. Cerberus offered her implants and revenge on the Alliance. Katarina joined and became a Cerberus member. She herself became a teacher like her parents, training Cerberus biotic. Yet as the years went by, the emotions she suppressed came back to her. She felt stupid for the actions she did, despite how half them helped the Alliance against the Separatist. She wondered to herself why she fought against her family and the Alliance a shining star in the Galaxy as she used to think. She thought to herself why she helped Cerberus, an enemy to the Alliance despite how she passively agreed on some issues with them. She wanted out and wanted to return to the Alliance and amend her sins which haunted her past. Lena fought against Cerberus as she tried to escape from them. Cerberus tracked her until Lena lost them out of their sight. When she was out of Cerberus reach, Lena secretly returned to Omega where she changed her entire face through surgery and modification by a man named William Zarander, which Lena realized was one of her friends back in Hacate. She learned from him that that most of the NGP fell apart years after she left due to disagreements between the Academy and the Military. Most went into the military while it was unknown what happened to the others. Zarander himself talked to Lena how he did not want to be a tool of war ever since the Horizon incident to which he told her, “an incident in which the tragedies of conflict cause an individual emotions to go rampant to avenge them.” Lena told him that she wanted to atone for her “Sins” and wanted to rejoin the Alliance. Zarander did not like the decision. Instead, he suggested Lena going out as a morally-good mercenary fighting against pirates. To which Lena agreed. After the face change, she renamed herself to from Lena Volkova to Naomi Gagarin. She made a name of herself in the Galaxy to which she was desired by many groups. This included the Alliance who questioned her advanced biotic abilities. With that, the Alliance approached her and offered her a position into the Specter’s. It was the first time an independent contractor was offered a position on it, even though Naomi repulsed intrusive question into her life. She chose it and being assigned to the Normand SR3 as a way for her to atone for her sins.
Frettzo:
Name: Ken'Koris vas Yaska Race: Quarian Call sign/ nickname: Officially, it's Arrowhead, but he keeps telling people to call him 'Ken' instead. Age: 26 Weight: 181 lbs, 82 kg. Height: 5'8 Appearance: Sometimes he will wear a few buttons on his chest. These vary from Shepard-era recruiting campaigns to buttons picturing Tali'Zorah as Shepard's crew member or one of the many Flotilla spaceships. Personality: Ken'Koris is a very outgoing and sociable Quarian, always looking for the right moment to speak with others and make new friends, often quickly warming up to them and treating them like the family he never had just after a few weeks of knowing them. He attacks problems head-on, letting feelings guide his rational mind, effectively mixing the two and often coming out of problems in an ethical (yet sometimes brutal) way. His profession has many times led him to dangerous places and many near-death situations, which have bolstered his natural courage and inner strength. Oh, and he's also straight-forward. He's got repressed depression issues deep down ever since having to escape from his parents. Class: Soldier. Powers: Adrenaline Rush, Concussive Shot, Fitness, Combat Mastery, Disruptor Ammo, Incendiary Ammo, Grenade. Biography: Born in 24 A.B.E to a family of stable position in the Homeworld due to their status as renowned mechanics, Ken'Koris always had whatever it is he needed. Brought up and educated to become the next big mechanic, Ken never really liked the dull and uninteresting long hours of tinkering with machines- Beings that didn't even speak or think. The prospects of having such a boring life in the future always turned Ken off, and he often managed to find ways to get himself into trouble- Fun trouble. Exploring, petting unknown creatures, disturbing swarms of insects. The kind of trouble that a kid could cause to have fun in a place where isolation from the Galaxy was the norm.So the years passed with Ken banding up with other kids to explore and play while he was free, and studying boring subjects while he was at home. Eventually, at the age of fifteen, Ken decided to let his parents know of his decision. He'd told them that he'd join the Quarian Army. Not because of any ideal, but because through all of his life, he had seen some dangers in his Homeworld. Dangers that had to be controlled if they would have a chance at living in peace. But his wish was denied. His parents, worried about his safety, prevented him from joining the army, crushing his dreams for the first time. A year passed, with Ken's resentment growing each day. When his sixteenth birthday came, he was fed up. Tired of being forced to study something he didn't even like, he escaped, and with the help of one of his friends, he managed to get a pass off-world in a not very trustworthy ship. The ship moved for days, stopping only when it needed to refuel or resupply in one or or another pirate station. Eventually he ended up in the Citadel, landing a job with a very shady man. The job was simple. He would stand in front of doors, carrying a pistol and pretending to protect whatever was behind. Surely, he never actually knew what was behind the doors, but it was a job that fed him and allowed him to rent a place. A meager living, poor and barely hygienic enough to not die of exposure... But it was a living nonetheless. it was in the Citadel that he came into contact with Galactic History, after going to a museum and finding out about Tali'Zorah and Shepard, and the many other crew members that helped save the Galaxy all those years ago. From that moment, he did whatever he could to get enough credits to start a small collection of relics of the ReaperInvasion and Shepard's bravery. Eventually they were the only possessions he had that he felt he was connected to. Weeks passed, months even, and everything was fine, until one fateful day, he heard screams, agonizing screams from behind the doors. Naturally, he was scared, wary, and after minutes of hearing the screams, when his partner went off into the restroom, he left. He was quick to contact his few friends and get a passage off the Citadel with whatever credits he had left, and returned to the Homeworld. It was easily a year after his original escape, and once he arrived, without meeting his parents, and never planning to, he was gladly accepted into the army. He went through boot camp, medicine classes, three years of outstanding service in field of Search & Destroy and Reconnaissance, two years in Spec Ops training, followed by three more years of outstanding field service as an Special Operative. His service gathered the attention of the Citadel Council, and he was discreetly offered to be recruited into the ranks of the Spectres. He accepted, and after a few months of Spectre training and a few missions, he was offered a place in the Normandy SR3, the reincarnation of Shepard's vessel, the reincarnation of the fine ship that allowed Tali'Zorah and Shepard to save the galaxy. He didn't waste a second in accepting the offer.
Weyr
Name: Mads Tao Race: Salarian Age: 22 Weight: 85lbs Height: 4'11" Appearance: Mads Tao is fairly average salarian, Grayish green skin and large black and blue eyes. His armor is a slightly modified STG variant produced by Aegor Munitions colored in a tan and brown camouflage pattern. Personality: In many ways Mads Tao is the atypical salarian, Fast thinking, fast moving, fast talking often interrupting or mumbling to himself while others are talking. He served 8 years in STG and was very much the company man. Assigned to a project monitoring Krogan growth post genophage, over the years he has grown to dislike the race and most members of it seeing them as brutes still high on a war that ended over 50 years ago. This was increased by his last mission which resulted in 2 month of imprisonment and torture by a small renegade Krogan clan. This has darkened his mood made him a more cynical man. But does enjoy his down time music especially. He plays over a dozen different instruments from all over the galaxy. Class:Sentinel Powers and abilities STG tech specialist- Weapon training-basic weapon training with most weapon types but especially skilled with pistols and small low-recoil shotguns. Hacking-no real experience hacking AIs or robotic automatons, but very skilled with hacking security systems. Mads received specialized training infiltrating Krogan Military networks. Offensive tech- along with a good omni blade app, Mads Tao keeps a good portion of his omni-tools storage with offensive virus designed to overload kinetic barriers, overheat weapons, or if he's lucky overloading the enemy's omni tool causing a neural shock. Defensive tech- STG 'explosive' tech armor- omni tool controlled holographic shield that boost the effectiveness of the equipped kinetic barriers. These are powered by a battery that has enough power for three powerful detonations, each detonation decreases the effectiveness of the tech armor and once used three times the tech armor requires hours to recharge to be used again. Biotics- Mads Tao is not a very strong biotic even by salarian standards, but still uses his powers fairly effectively in combat. Lifting or throwing an enemy isn't out of the question but a determined or charging Krogan could be a problem. A large shockwave is out of the question but he has the power to knock someone down. Barriers and warp fields seem to be hard for him to maintain, however Mads has been known to use his biotic powers to charge the enemy in tandem with his tech armor. Biography: His biotic potential was noticed when he was a young child on Sur'Kesh, and was put into early STG train and began operating as an agent at 14 in a small cell of sociologists and military agents who monitored Krogan expansion in the DMZ and the worlds sanctioned to the Krogan after The Reaper War. The KRUC seemed to be doing its best at controlling the populations, however not all clans were joining and those that did we're not in agreement with the KRUC Leadership. While monitoring population growth and Krogan attitude to the council races, Mads tao's unit discovered planed pirate raids on long haul supply ships and shady mercenary groups some tied to the KRUC but never tight enough to draw in politicians. His captain sympathized with the Krogan and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Tao started out this way but over 8 years of assignments grew to dislike most Krogan, and it seemed there work brought them with some of the worst of the species. One independent clan became the main focus of Tao's unit, Clan Udveks, A strong warrior clan who were present at both on Palaven and Earth during The Reaper War. After an argument with Urdnot Wrex/wrev?, Udveks Ling the clan leader left Tuchanka for good heading to Wrill taking with him several fertile females and gathering much of the local Krogan population support for the expansion of the empire including a large groups of Bloodpack mercs. Ling was proving to be dangerous and Taos group began focusing here efforts to monitor Clan Udveks. A three year black ops mission began monitoring traffic on the ungoverned planet of Wrill and performing hit and run raids on Krogan and Vorcha targets. The small crew of salarians had several losses during this time and was eventually cut down to three, Mads Tao, the munitions specialist, and the XO. And late one evening it they found it. It was barley a blip in the static but it was enough. The commanding officer noticed it first, a strange signal on the planets communication network, that was almost hidden too well. when the group decoded the transmission they discovered something horrible. Ling had gotten ahold of cloning technology and imprinting technology that created Urdont Grunt developed by Dr. Okeer. In the cloning facility he had striped the eggs from fertile women then fertilizing the embryos and using the clinging tech and imprinting to advance the age. The next decoded data pack showed the horrors, not only were a third of the females dieing during the egg harvesting process, but gestation was only taking 4 weeks. A trained Krogan army in matter of months. Rigging an explosive and sneaking it into the base seemed easy. The XO brought in the shuttle and the munitions officer loaded charges and detonator into packs, and Mads Tao and the munitions expert began moving out. A air vent on the roof was an easy access. They climbed through the air ducts and dropped into the unoccupied cloning center 6 large chambers in ythe room each with juvenile Krogan clones growing inside. "You set the charges Tao, I'll prep the detonator." He was setting the fourth charge when it happened. BAM! Then an electric hiss of kinetic barriers dropping. Mads looked over his shoulder the munitions expert lay dead on the ground. Clean headshot right through the sheilds. The Krogan guard had moved too fast, Mads missed. The Krogan grabbed a metal table in the he center of the room and threw it at Mads. He reached out grabbed the table with his biotics and redirected it toward a row of the cloning pods. Glass and the fluid in two of the cloning chambers crashed to the ground the clones gasping for life but appeared to be dying rather quickly "No" the guard screamed and charged at Mads. Upon impact his tech armor detonated both men flewe to opposite ends of the room. Mads jumped to the center of the room grabbing the detonator from his dead friends hands and flipped the switch, the four charges exploded, glass metal, cloning fluid and bits of cloned Krogan flew across the room. Smoke filled the air and Mads made a break for the door, but as he turned he hit something hard...Krogan armor. His eyes looked up Udveks Ling. A quick jump back and mads opened a comm line, "Commander, mission accomplished cancel evac, situation FUBAR" and detonated his tech armor again Ling just laughed as he reached down and grabbed the salarian by the neck "Look what we got here boys, a new punching bag" the last thing Mads saw was a Krogan fist headed to his face. The salarian awoke in a cage somewhere in the bowls of a the Krogan base, here he was beat and electrocuted daily for information Mads gave false info snide remarks. As far as the Krogan knew he was a c-sec officer tracking down leads on illegal cloning tech. It took 8 weeks before a the rescue came. Mads was sitting in his cell and the Krogan guard was taunting him with his rations on the other side of the kinetic barrier. Then a burst of blue and the Krogan went flying a second burst of mass effect energy and the krogans screams were silenced. "Mads Tao?" The Asari asked as she looked in the cell. "Hmmm... Asari, not what I expected. Let me guess... Spectre? This was STG black ops. Wasn't expecting extraction. Told commander abandon evac plans. Mission accomplished--" The Asari shook her head"We can talk or get out of here. Let's just say the council didn't like the idea of someone with Okeers tech producing an army. And your XO pulled some strings to recover you." Upon returning to the citadel he was offered retirement from STG and a position in the Spectre program
