[b]Magic:[/b][hider=Marionette] Marionette is the name of Alais' magic. She is able to summon and manipulate a series of Magic Puppets with different abilities. She commands these puppets through the use of Magic Strings that extend from her fingers to the puppet in question.

[u][b]Puppets[/b][/u]
[b]Danseur d'Epee:[/b] A humanoid, four armed puppet, whose arms end in long curved blades which it uses to attack. It is a highly agile puppet, capable of sweeping, rotating attacks.

[b]Oiseau de Feu:[/b] A puppet the takes the form of a large mechanical bird. The puppet is capable of flying and shoots exploding fireballs from it's beak.

[b]Cercueil Vide:[/b] A four legged insect-like puppet which is able to stand up on it's hind legs, opening a compartment in it's underbelly to draw in and absorb magical attacks. It possesses a cannon on it's back that fires the absorbed magical energy in a single massive attack. However It has a limit to how much energy it can absorb at a time. Too much at once can cause the puppet to explode, rendering it useless until Alais can repair it.

[b]Le Chevalier:[/b] Alais' most powerful puppet. A centaur puppet clad in resplendent plate armor with a full face helm. It's right arm ends in a powerful lance while it's left arm ends in an elaborate shield, emblazoned with a foreign crest of arms. It is capable of charging an opponent with unnatural strength and speed. Asside from its special charge, it is a capable fighter, thrusting and slashing with it's lance.[/hider][b]Magic Level:[/b] B

[b]History:[/b] Alais was once the crown princess of Royeaux, a nation to the north east of Fiore. However when she was only an infant, her home nation was taken over in a bloody coup d'etat which left both her parents dead and the royal family of Royeaux in tatters. Alais survived the coup when she was spirited out of the royal palace by her nursemaid, a young woman who always delighted the baby girl with dancing marionettes.

Secretly, Alais' nursemaid was also a mage, tasked with guarding the young princess' life and she put those skills to use during their flight to safety, defending them from attackers and later using the skills as a freelance mage to keep them both fed and clothed. The woman never told Alais about her true parentage and Alais grew up believing the woman to be her mother.

As Alais grew, her fascination with her guardian's marionettes grew and she took up puppeteering herself. Eventually the woman also taught her the secrets of her magic and gave Alais her first Magic Puppet, Le Chevalier, which she said had always belonged to her, that she had just been holding it in trust for this moment. They began going on jobs together, becoming a mother/daughter team.

Things were going well until a job went unexpectedly awry and Alais' foster mother was fatally wounded protecting her. In her final moments, the woman bequeathed all of her puppets to Alais and told her about her past and her true identity. She urged Alais to always be wary of Royeaux assassins and to never return. With her final breath she urged Alais to live on and find good friends and a new life.

After burying the woman whom had been like a mother to her, Alais decided to honor her dying wish by travelling to Fiore, where word of the rebirth of Mages Guilds had spread. She decided to find one of these guilds and join up.

[b]Personality:[/b] Alais is a happy young woman who is almost always smiling. However she is mildly distrustful of strangers, and it occasionally seems that her perpetual happiness is a mask for a deep sadness that she hides inside her.

[b]Additional Details:[/b] Alais speaks with a Royeaux (french) accent and, aside from her Magic Puppets, also owns several small conventional puppets that she enjoys putting on shows with.
