Maybe instead of a merchant, we'll have a Linguistics Expert, who can speak the local language - or at least, work out how to speak it on the go. Again with a trainer, I'd like to leave that aspect to the players themselves. I.e, a group of with soldiers in it would be able to train themselves. Exploration gear is another interesting one; clothing designed to withstand extreme climates and damp. Thanks for the input though, that's two there I hadn't thought of adding.
