Yes and that was the way I imagined it being used. but it retracts to the form of a blade. making it a whip-sword. and the retraction necessity/duration. still need a length yea. a whip also has the capablity, if used well enough, to go from different angles. i can remove the changing direction though, that part wasnt important at all just something to make it different.
