Years spent doing sports and playing outdoors has given her a nice tanned, athletic build which she enjoys to cover up with baggy clothing. She has tons of calluses on her hands and feet as well as various scars, predominantly on her knees and elbows. There is one significant scar hidden underneath her hair on the left side of her head right above her ear. It really isn't all that noticeable unless someone touched her there, then they can feel the raised skin of her surgery. Personality Traits: The Good: Friendly, Hardworking, Dedicated & Curious The Neutral: Impressionable, Self-conscious, Competitive, & Proud The Bad: Gullible, Tactless, Rowdy & Sloppy Background Info: Amelia was conceived thanks to one too many drinks and a bad decision. Her parents tried to stick it through, even getting married a few months before she was born, but once Amelia was diagnosed with Predominantly Hyperactive ADHD around six years old her father gave up and left. Not able to pay for her medication by herself, Amelia's mother thought of the brilliant notion to focus her daughter's excessive amount of energy into sports. Amelia proved to be a natural athlete and played throughout all elementary and middle school. By the time she entered high school, she was well known for her bubbly personality and athletic prowess, instantly making her a popular student among her peers. Life seemed to be going great in all aspects of her life, even for her mom who had begun dating again. It was in her junior year when Amelia began to notice something different. She had constant headaches and could not recall easy words in normal conversation. After one particularly painful headache, she was sent to the E.R. where doctors found a tumor on the left side of her brain. She was reassured that surgery would be the best step in getting rid of the tumor and in a matter of days, Amelia was all prepped in front of the O.R. However, the next time she woke up, she was greeted by grave-looking doctors and her tear-stricken mother. It was then that Amelia was informed that there was a complication during her surgery; the area of her brain that was in charge of her speech had been damaged. Amelia was incredulous but when she opened her mouth to express her disbelief, a jumble of gibberish came out instead of coherent words. The doctors informed her that even if she were to do therapy, she would never speak the same way she did before. Amelia's mother started off as a rock for the red-head at the beginning of her recovery but slowly began to pull away when she found a new man in her life. By the time Amelia was released from the hospital, it was a taxi that was waiting to take her to her new home. Although her mother was ecstatic to see her, her step-father and step-siblings weren't. They saw her as a burden who craved attention and soon, her mother felt the same way. Over time, Amelia was left out of family activities and was unable to continue her speech therapy. Her school life wasn't any better as people she had thought were friends now shunned her because of her inability to communicate. Even when she was given the okay to participate in sports again, her old teammates and coaches treated her as if she could break any second and she was unable to play to her fullest extent. A year and a half later, Amelia graduated from high school. The next day, she was kicked out of her step-father's home. Homeless and confused, Amelia found her way to the Blackwing Apartments and was able to get herself a room. She eventually got a job as a delivery girl and has been living off tips and minimum wage for the past two years. Life has come back to Amelia's eyes during that time as she now communicates through a notepad. Other: -Her handwriting is horrendous so she relies mostly on pictures and hand signs to communicate. -Runs every morning -Hates silence and constantly keeps the music or television on whenever she's home alone. -Can still make sounds like hums and grunts, but refuses to speak. ---
Amelia's Relationship Chart ♥ = romance|| ♦ = friends || ♠ = enemies || ○ = neutral ♦ Jin: Amelia's incredibly grateful for Jin's hospitality and help.
