I'm around, just working slowly. Lots of stuff going on, and I apparently have something happening over the next two weeks. Looks like I chose a terrible time to start this. Gonna look over more of the character sheets tonight though, and hopefully have stuff ready for you guys (while giving some important info to a friend of mine who joined this RP) and I can possibly drop in later?
Never ever start an RP when you're busy - I learnt that the hard way. :< The best way though is to devote maybe an hour or two and just get EVERYTHING done in terms of the RP (accept character sheets, decline some, give them feedback, write the opening IC post in a manner that means the RP isn't dependent on your posts to progress in any way) and then leave it for a bit and work on what you need to do. From personal experience, I tend to find that leaving the RP on the backburner before the IC's arrived means that people lose interest and leave without telling you, making the whole RP flop before it's even started. But hell, who am I to tell you what to do. It's -a- plan of action but you're an individual and I don't even know what kind of work it is. I just wish you the best of luck and hope you'll be able to pull through the stress.
As for the characters knowing each other and starting situations, it's required for the villains to all be together (as a group, I mean. They can physically start in other places) because they're building their dungeon. I can think of a number of scenarios for the villains, possibly some of them are on a mission to recruit some group of 'evil' creatures or trying to acquire more resources for their dungeon or otherwise working on villainous things
That makes sense. I'm assuming this is a very stereotypical fantasy setting, a bit like an RPG-style with castles and kingdoms and ogres and trolls etc etc. for the villains to go and start recruiting into an army of minions, and work on constructing the dungeon deep in the bowels of mount hellfire or whatever. Hopefully I'm right in assuming such a thing.
I meant for the groups to be both be together, but I could see multiple groups of heroes working separately, but still aware of each other. One thing to keep in mind is that your parents all knew each other. I'm not sure if I made it totally clear, but they all knew each other at least by reputation and they fought together in this big epic battle, and that sort of brings the separate sides together.
Mhm, that's -one- thing to keep in mind. The parents knew each other. But I see a lot of Character Sheets saying that the only interaction with the parent's friends in terms of backstory is their children hearing about them in stories of their amazing-ness. At most, the heroes might know some of them had kids like them (actually, I think they do know that) but I doubt they met too often, unless they lived close to each other. Still, we'll find a way around that. We'll bump into each other because we're working for the same goal.
