Kalinda didn't sleep for long, perhaps for an hour, or two. She woke slowly, groggily, feeling as if she'd been hit by a brick wall. Her muscles hurt, and her body just generally seemed to ache. She knew she'd be covered in bruises already, as her fast healing ability struggled fix whatever damage she had received during the fighting. She blinked, looking up at Michael, and she smiled slightly, She remembered hearing his voice as she slept, and she wondered what she had done to deserve him, to deserve his care, and his kindness.
