Name: Wildmax Gender: Male Age: About 80 Earth years Race: Ceedromian Racial Traits: Sentient machines such as those from the planet Ceedrom have several advantages over humans. Perhaps the most obvious are their incredible longevity and potential for adaptation, a well mantained and upgraded machine can live for millenia and modify itself to suit a variety of environments and roles as long as the means are available. Next is the difficulty in killing them. Machines are immune to disease and unless a few vital parts are completely destroyed or disabled, a sentient machine can survive damage that would wind up killing most flesh and bone species, not to mention metal tends to be stronger than flesh. They can also interface directly with other machines sometimes, though how effectively depends on the species, the individual and the machine. Sentient machines do not need oxygen, water or food and can subsist entirely on a wide variety of fuels, though each species generally has a preferred recharging method. For opdisians, it's especially made energy discs they can insert on specific slots in their body, though they can also consume a variety of oils or even use solar power if need be. Sentient machines have their own problems, however. Their bodies are particularly vulnerable to weaponized electromagnetic pulses and rust-inducing weaponry while their minds can be attacked electronically, though this tends to require a direct connection from the attacker. On average, they also require more fuel intake to function at peak levels than most organics require food and water. Physical Appearance: Wildmax is a rather eyecatching robot to be sure. Ignore them tonfa things. Wildmax tends to wear a poncho that is the same color as his hat, because it looks cool, and can also retract his faceplate to reveal...a face. Personality: Wildmax is adventurous, free spirited and friendly, a robot driven by wanderlust who enjoys good company, music, drinking and cool, flashy things. Wildmax is also rather confrontational. He's not afraid to speak his mind in any given situation and he's ready and willing to jump into the lion's den, guns blazing, if he feels he should. He's quite proud of his skills as a gunslinger and most certainly enjoys the thrills of battle, though he tries to channel these impulses into something productive by targetting those who would harm others. Occupation: Bounty hunter, of course. Not one of those 2KOOL strong and silent loner types who's completely amoral or holding a blood feud against criminals everywhere, just a guy who knows he's good at shooting things and figures he might as well do something positive with that. Occasionally an artist. History: Planet Ceedrom, home to the race of sentient machines known as Ceedromians, is a tad oppresive. Ceedrom's society is segmented into a rigid caste system where every individual is taught from "birth" that one's role in life is determined by their bodies' specs and the pre-programmed abilities installed in each and every one of them, all of this determined by the ruling class. Social mobility is nigh-impossible, requiring absurd amounts of money, performing a task of note as determined by the ruling class or somehow having friends in high enough places, while developing skills outside of one's programming and body type is discouraged, to put it nicely. In return for lacking these freedoms, the populace is kept safe, well fueled and entertained, with not a care in the world and the feeling that their work helps further the greater good. Originally known as Picto, Wildmax was a lithe machine with precision and coordination in mind, built and programmed to be an artist. And truth be told, he wasn't bad at it, but it just wasn't what he wanted out of life. Unlike so many others, he evolved and learned on his own and sought to discard his given function, seeking a life of excitement and adventure instead of the comfortable but dreadfully boring routine of an artist in the planet. He taught himself gunplay with paired pistols (coolest firearm handling) and placed requests to join the planetary army, the peacekeeping force, anywhere that might land him someplace exciting. Of course, he was branded as a potential troublemaker by the ruling classes and kindly but firmly told to leave the planet and never return lest he spark these strange thoughts of nonconformity on others. Exile was generally regarded as a horrible punishment, since most ceedromians believe they live in a wonderful world and never want to leave, but for Picto, it was the start of a life of adventure. Using his artistic abilities, he managed to collect enough money for a complete body reconstruction procedure, transplating himself into something more suitable for a life of adventure, as well as some proper gear. He was now Wildmax, gunslinger extraordinare. Skills: Wildmax is a fairly talented gunslinger. He's got good reflexes, is a quick draw, a good shot and capable of using two pistols at the same time with no detriment to his abilities. He's also a good artist and can keep his gear in working order and perform a few simple repairs. Equipment: -Twin Pistols: Pistols which use electromagnetism to fire solid metal slugs, making them miniaturized railguns and putting them on par with energy-based weaponry. They can be reloaded by using small blocks of solid metal easily bought in any gun store in the galaxy. They look like this, because Wildmax wanted cool guns. It's the detailing and decoration of the top picture with the longer barrel and improved sights of the second one. -The Hat: Wildmax's hat can indeed be detached and is, in fact, a secret weapon. The edges of the hat's brim can be turned into a weak high frequency blade, allowing Wildmax to wield it as a suprise weapon if necessary. -Comm Array: Wildmax wears a comm array on his head that comes with a recording and transmitting device, an antenna to pick up a variety of signals and goggles with a heads-up display which includes target tagging and tracking, as well as a night vision mode. Can be safely detached without ripping anything off. Aspirations: Wildmax just wants to live an exciting life full of adventures and action and has no other real goals in life. He hopes to either die of age as a well known figure whose tales of badassitude have spread across the stars or young-ish and in a blaze of glory and gunfire. Philosophy: Do whatever you want and have fun, let others do whatever they want and have fun, don't be an ass and don't let people tread over you.
