The Tsar of Russia reassured me that such an article does not exist. Dagmar, Tsarevna [i.e. wife of the heir apparent] of Russia --- Daughter [Louise, wife of Charles XV] Please tell your husband to rest assured. My contacts in both the Netherlands and Prussia point toward that Article IV does not exist. Louise of Prussia, Wife of Frederick of the Netherlands, Inspector-General of the army, Sister of William I, King of Prussia --- The following statement is an official announcement by the Scandinavian Commonwealth The Scandinavian Commonwealth does not appreciate the accusations made by the United Republic. While such accusations would have been damning to the Eight Coalition if they were true, as Prussia and Russia championed themselves as revealing the deceitfulness of the Treaty of Constantinople, these false accusations could have placed our nation in an disadvantageous position, as declaring war because of this false Article IV would not have placed us in the moral high ground. In fact, it would have made us use a false casus belli. Therefore, in light of these events, the Scandinavian Commonwealth upholds its neutrality in this conflict. If Europe wishes to destroy itself, please do it without involving us.
