It took a bit longer than I thought it would, but I think I’m done here. I decided to include some pre-war stuff, mostly because the altered timeline and everything that differs from our world interests me. Now that I think about it, I really hope this ship hasn’t sunk. I put some work into this CS. One cup of coffee and crazed typing from midnight to five in the morning to be exact. Right, and if anything seems wrong or out of place, hit me up so I can look into fixing it. Bio: Veronica Annabelle Strider XI was of a lucky few to have an illustrious bloodline before the falling of the nukes, and thus was fairly easy for her ancestors to claim refuge in a Vault. The Strider name first hit the map when a young man from a small town in North Carolina by the name of Alexander Strider donned a spandex singlet for the Championship Wrestling League, or the CWL. At around 2038, Alexander built his fortune and career on blood, sweat, charisma, and fortitude, earning the big golden belt that every superstar strives to earn, becoming the CWL King of the World and obtaining the moniker of Alexander “Striker” Strider. For the next 20 years Striker Strider would appear in crisp black and white at 8:00 PM EST to entertain people in the thirteen American Commonwealths, as well as Uncle Sam’s troops stationed all over the world. In 2060, another Strider would enter the squared circle, but this time the individual in question was of the fairer sex. Veronica Annabelle Strider or “The Belle of the Ball”, daughter of Alexander “Striker” Strider continued her father’s wrestling legacy in the CWL’s Female Division. Veronica inspired Women all over America and proved that Ladies could be tough too, accumulating a five time CWL Queen of the World streak. This knockout gal not only had brawn, but also brain. She devoted just as much time to the scientific arts as she had to athleticism, and some of her colleagues claimed that the girl was working on big things. That is, until the bombs fell in 2077, when Strider had to abandon her lab in favor of Vault 117 in her hometown of Cannon City. Having given many donations to Vault-Tec beforehand, Veronica was able to have a computer mainframe installed in Vault 117 that contained literally everything one would want to know about the Pre-War world. It was in her firm belief that knowing the past would prevent it from happening again, so the one final gift she could give to humanity was knowledge. After the vault doors sealed, little came out of the Strider family, except for children to pass on the name. Each generation interestingly produced a female, and it’s assumed that the first and middle names of the once great celebrity was also passed down for the same reasons as the last. Two long centuries would pass until the Vault 117 doors would unexpectedly open in late 2277; one year after Veronica Annabelle Strider XI was born. This forced the well-educated denizens of the underground to face the harsh bastardization of North America. Mutated Bears and Cougars roamed the Wastes, and the worst of humanity in the various Raider tribes would give the impression that Humanity was on its last leg. Optimists of Vault 117 would go as far as to travel north to Washington and New York to see if any bastions of human kind remained. Others went east to the Carolina Keyes, more south to Georgia and Florida, and even a few ventured west into the vast unknown that was Middle America. Most however stayed in Vault 117, fortifying it into a great settlement, building walls of scrap and junk in hopes that it would do the job that the vault door failed. Despite the harsh nature of the wastes becoming known, Veronica Annabelle Strider XI received the same upbringing that her forefathers had, learning things that would only see the eyes of Pre-War upper class. However, as the girl grew older, the differences between the way the world was then and the way the world was now stood out repulsively. She would have fallen into a deep depression if it wasn’t for the recordings of one President John Henry Eden, brought from D.C. to Vault 117 by one of its pilgrims. The President of the Enclave became a role model to Veronica, and his Enclave Radio speeches would comfort her where her parents could not, as they had gone mysteriously missing when she was a baby. The idea that this Enclave could somehow fix the world sounded right, and so when Veronica turned 18, she set out to D.C. in order to join their ranks and offer her genius mind to the restoration of America, and the world. The road was long and hard, and the young woman nearly died multiple times, but she was able to forge ahead to the Capitol Wasteland. Upon learning about the fall of the enclave in Washington, the girl continued north, this time venturing out to the ruins of Pittsburgh after hearing rumors of some fabled cure to radiation. In hopes that the Enclave was behind this, her dreams of finding the last remnants of America were dashed yet again, and so the search continued. As any wastelander knows, life in Post-Apocalyptia is hard, and that of a wanderer is even harder. In order to survive, Strider stole when necessary, harkening back to her childhood when the girl would break into the kitchen to take midnight snacks. She killed raiders and fiends, but eventually became desensitized towards death, and even began to grow a psychopathic fascination to it. It was enjoyable watching marauders heads explode from the bullets of her sniper rifle, assuring herself that the elimination of conflict in this manner was the best course of action. Of course, maybe some of the headless bodies scattered around weren’t crazed killers after all, but safety was the best policy. Young Strider still searches for the Enclave to this day, her indoctrinated mind willing to do the bidding of the American Government. Tales of an underground metro in California only made her will stronger; surly she’d find them in one of the many places the tracks led.
