[/quote] No, it's against international law to claim any part of Antarctica as territory of a nation. There are research outposts, but they are not considered territory of the nation that operates them. Of course, instead of just rebelling against a nation that claimed Antarctica, now the Antarctic Union is breaking international law that has held for over a hundred years (I think). Meh, it's 2070, the Antarctic Treaty might have just been forgotten. Along with basically everything else we have, including the Geneva Conventions.
