In a dark isolated room akin to a cell, a man was sleeping in a small bed, wearing a white button up shirt and special lightweight pants. This man's name was Hawk. He sat there, with his eyes closed, gazing off into the blackness of his eyelids. He never truly slept, as he had to be always available for battle, however, he could occasionally put himself into a meditative state for a while. When he heard footsteps coming down the hall, he knew instantly. He hopped to his feet and in one fluid motion, grabbed a black trench coat with built in gloves from the wall and pulled it onto his body, and then in another fluid motion, snapped his right arm to the right, and two grappling hooks snapped across the wall, grabbing his arsenal of weapons, and snapping back, he grabbed the weapons with both his hands and swiftly attached them to his utility belt under the trench coat. At this point, a blonde haired girl had already appeared outside of the cell, green scales sparkling like tears on the one side of her face. He nodded, and walked swiftly ahead of her, knocking on the door to his master's meeting chamber. ------------------------------------------------- Burning buildings, screaming, and a little girl with angel wings was crashing to the ground. He felt himself strain to scream, caught dead in the eyes of the man who shot the angel down. In his eyes he saw red flames. Devon woke up with a start and strained not to scream. He ran to the bathroom and almost hurled, staring up at himself in the mirror. Black hair. Red eyes. The same red eyes that looked back at him in the nightmare. The same red eyes he had hated since he could even remember, right on his face. He sighed, splashed some water on his face, and opened the door to his hotel room. Oh, don't get me wrong, he isn't in a normal hotel room. As he walked out of the room, rubble surrounded him, and a narrow tunnel was ahead of him. He had found a small tunnel in the side of a crashed hotel years ago, and it had been made into his home. He walked out of the rubble, looking around. Everything was too quiet. He had a really bad feeling about this. The only person in sight was a woman who was a bit shorter than Devon, with short brown hair. "Hey, do you know where everyone else is?" He asked her. She was walking alone. -------------------------------------------------- Another wonderful morning. Nothing ever happened in Hanna's life. All she did was sit around in school all day, and maybe hang out with friends afterwards. But today was different. "Hanna, we shouldn't be doing this!" Said a nervous Carly, one of Hanna's friends. "Oh stop being a chicken!" Hanna sighed, and Another one of her friends named Amanda loudly agreed with her. "It's just the broken half of the city, nobody comes here anymore, so we shouldnt get in trouble or anything. Hanna and her three friends were skipping school. They had hopped the fence covered in "DANGER" signs , and were now making there way into the ruins to goof off. Her friends were Carly, Amanda, and Charlie. Carly had short blonde hair and glasses, Amanda was tall and had bright red hair, and Charlie was short, the only male in the group, with short black hair. He was very quiet, and Hanna had had a crush on him since forever. However, what they thought would just be fun changed when Hanna saw something strange standing atop a building. "What's that?" She wondered aloud. When nobody answered, she turned around to find all of her friends had vanished. "GUYS!?" She screamed frantically. But they were gone. And as Hanna heard something land loudly right behind her, she didnt even look back. She just ran for her life.
