Hanna was in shock. She couldn't really hear what the man was saying, her ears were ringing. When the flash cleared, she was over the fence and the man was beside her. She tore away from him and sprinted into the storm into the city, where he couldn't see her through the rain. She made it to a small bridge, looked blankly at the grey sky, and then down at her rain drenched and bloody clothes. She looked forward and saw a stranger with an umbrella looking at her with concern. Then she burst into tears, and the rest of the storm she spent in the strangers house, wearing his daughter's dry clothes. She didn't answer any of his questions, and he wanted to drive her to the hospital, but the roads were treacherous from the storm, and since she wasn't gravely injured, he decided to take her in when the storm cleared, which wasn't due to end for a while. -------------- Devon fell asleep behind the rubble, the rest needed to replenish his blood and energy.
