Before the fighting had begun, their father was just a simple guardsman that supported the town from bandits, as well as a few others. Not much real authority, just trying to keep people safe. But once the fighting eventually started and continued for what seemed unending, their father had joined as a mercenary and eventually a full soldier for the Ordained. But before all that had happened, the man married and had two children. In the end, he told his wife to move far away as he knew the fighting wouldn't stop, and his next battle he may not return from. With several other people from the small town, the family moved, never hearing of their father again. On the way they were harassed and attacked by bandits, giants, and other wickeds. The two children had grown during these travels, but ended up losing their mother. With what valuables and keepsakes that were packed with them, eventually the two children found out their Grandfather had been Lord, or even King of a land at one time, especially since they were left with their mothers belongings to discover stashed away fortunes. It seemed they had royal blood, but as to why their parents were never royalty is still a question to this day. Their motto is 'Our Brother's Keeper.' ] Lord Ealdwine Stouffer is the Lord of The Roost, Greenfield, and Cattlecross. He is 57 years of age, average of height and heavy of weight, pale of complexion, bald but for a fringe of gray-black hair, and brown of eye. He was married to a courtier of his some years ago, Lady Flora, but she died of illness, and the lord remarried to Lady Bucgan, age 48, the aunt of the current lord of House Vealcook. He has three sons [ Wallace, age 40, Duncan, age 37, and Giric, age 35 ], the eldest of which was born to the late Lady Flora, and is his named heir, much to the ire of Duncan. Lord Stouffer has two brothers; Laurence, age 55, and John, age 53. Laurence married to a courtier, Danehilda, and has one son [ Art, age 39 ] and one daughter [ Inga, age 35 ]. John long ago became a mercenary, and his whereabouts are currently unknown, though it is known he has never officially married. House Stouffer is an old House. It has held its ancestral land of the Roost since long before the unification of Lundland, and its expansion in decades past has been largely peaceful, with its farmers spreading out over what was once common land. During the Unification, the peaceful House willingly pledged itself as your vassals, for fear of the violence that had been engulfing the land. Ever since, they have been loyal, and peaceful people. The ruling Lord Ealdwine is a haughty and jolly man, with a taste for food and wine that is visible at a glance of his massive girth. Though he is not a cruel man, he is a man accustomed to luxury, and cares more for his own pleasure than for the prosperity of his fiefs. His two elder sons are much the same, but his youngest, Giric, is a much more kind and gentle lad. Both Duncan and Giric resent Wallace their half-brother for inheriting, despite only being born to a woman of low status. On the blue fields are the heads of golden stags. Their motto is ‘The Overlord’s Most Faithful Servants.’ ] Lord Dalmund Vealcook is the Lord of Vealwood. He is 30 years of age, of average height and weight, light of complexion, sandy brown of hair, and dark of eye. He is married to Lady Dalia, age 29, the daughter of a landed knight. He has three sons [ Ambrose, age 12, Norman, age 10, Phillip, age 8 ] and two daughters [ Laura, age 5, Sara, age 3 ]. Lord Dalmund has two older brothers [ Samuel, age 34, Thomas, age 32 ], both of whom gave up their inheritance to join the clergy in Bernwick. House Vealcook was a House that received its start some fifty years ago, when the then-Overlord Henry IV gave a wealthy land under his rule to his castle’s head chef, Ranald, whose speciality was preparing veal, and other fine meats. As the man was lowborn, he had no family name of import, and thus took up the name Vealcook, to honour his humble beginnings. Lord Ranald passed away recently, shortly after his two eldest heirs made their decision to renounce their inheritance, and join the clergy in Bernwick. While a surprising decision, both men were quite pious, and had been discussing something of the sort for a long time, as both had wives who died early and childless. They also quoted that their younger brother, Dalmund, had far more of a head for administration. Indeed, Dalmund has been very productive in administering his land, though he regrettably has a diminished talent for cooking compared to his late father. His union with his wife has also been quite fruitful, producing numerous healthy children in succession. Though fair, Lord Dalmund has been known to put his sense of justice, duty, and loyalty to House Trisch over what might be pragmatic or beneficial. His sons are young, and thus it is too early to say how they are turning out, but his eldest, Ambrose, appears to be a boy enflamed by wroth, who throws frequent tantrums whensoever things go against him. His father has birched him on more occasions than he’s had a hot meal. It’s motto is ‘Reapers of the Ocean.’ ] Lord Gawain is the lord of Fisherbay, Herringshore, Saltbeach, Rockbridge, Foulmoat, Terrorcliff, Lockjaw, and Shipwreck Beach. He is age 64, average of height and thin of weight, pale of complexion, gray of balding hair, and dark of eye. He was married to Lady Arwa and Lady Hilda, both lowborn and deceased. By Lady Arwa he had two sons [ Charles, age 48, Earnest, age 44 ] and three daughters [ Anna, age 46, Frida, age 44, Kym, age 42 ]. By Lady Hilda, he had five daughters [ Stella, age 39, Luna, age 37, Moira, age 34, Agnes, age 32, Una, age 30 ]. Lord Gawain has three brothers [ Lancel, age 61, Osguid, age 56, Oswald, age 54 ], and two sisters [ Aepelswip, age 58, Donnaid, age 52 ]. Each of whom have their own families. House Fisher is a powerful House, born out of hardy settlers and merciless conquest. They settled the southwestern shores long ago, and were among the many who fought against the Overlord during his unification of Lundland a century ago. Some thirty years ago, when Lord Gawain could still be called young, he attempted to undermine Overlord Balthazar by arranging a marriage that would certainly allow him to inherit all of Falkwreath. The Overlord was not amused, and settled the matter by forcing the Church to immediately annul the marriage, and place House Fisher under vassalage of your House. Lord Gawain is still very bitter to House Trisch, and chafes under your rule. He believes his wealth and power allows him to be a great Lord in his own right, not a pathetic vassal House. He is a very cruel man; merciless in justice, but pragmatic where his own wealth and power are concerned. He constantly laments the incompetence and scheming of his sons and daughters, who have all seemingly attempted murder toward one another. Lord Gawain’s brothers once schemed and plotted to take the land, but being so far down in the line of succession, and having no lands of their own, they have given up such aspirations, and are content to mooch off the wealth of the House in peace. Lord Gawain’s eldest sons take much after their father, although his eldest son, Charles, has been known to be far more arrogant and strong in muscle than his younger brother, Earnest. Both sons have sons of their own, and though most at court have more support for Charles, there is a growing, violent number of men who would prefer Earnest to take the Lordship.
