Ariel's chest thumped so loud, she feared the other girl would hear her. "No! Of course not and don't ever say that again!" The spark of emotion in her voice surprised even her, making her inch away in fear. Taking Zendra's hand within her own, she brushed small kisses on the top palm and felt the familiar creeps of a blush rising to her cheeks. "You're not a disappointment. You're so much...more." What was going on? Why was she acting like this? She didn't actually have feelings for her prey, did she? Confused about it herself, Ariel closed the distance between them and rested her head in Zendra's lap. "Don't think about that other girl. She was an unwelcome visitor...and she was never a lover of mine. Only a [i]nuisance[/i]." She spat out that last word like poisoned water. "Oh, and Zendra? For...your own safety, can you promise something? Promise you will try to never let out your other self again. I fear that annoying thing exists to drive us apart...please do it for me?" Turning over to look up at her lover, Ariel clung tighter in hesitance at what she would say next. "Also...do you...do you think I'm a monster? I want to hear your honest opinion of me..."
