Dan was hit by a red beam as he was travelling through the woods and the next thing he knew, he was teleported to...Somewhere. It was a huge place, that was for sure. The tech, as noted by Evelyn, was futuristic and otherworldly. He had an urge to let his inner child out and press all the buttons and flick all the switches, but decided against it. That might destroy the base or something like TV shows and Movies always said.
