And since you had naval superiority, Spain couldn't do anything. @Dutch: They did get you and France (although Prussia was also a reason) to build up forces on the border of what was formerly known as Belgium. And when France dropped out, they too did not have any hostiles bordering them. You had naval superiority, so they couldn't go anywhere by sea. They could have aided the 'Ussias with their invasion of Austria, but that would almost be beating a dead horse.
