Biggest thing to remember is that even in death, your dead character will experience the cause of death (for example, Kurama will be throwing up his guts every time until the end of time) again and again, and maybe that could influence the ability to speak (Kurama is unable to speak while Seiko struggles to speak, all because of their cause of death). Second thing to remember is that since the character deaths are recent ones as opposed to the ones back in the past like the ghost children and Seiko, the spirits of the dead characters cannot be seen, but they can interact with the environment around them.
