Jessalyn - Haywood - Attack Jess had been feeling funny ever since waking up. Restless, not being able to sit still... She had slept well the night before so it couldn't be lack of sleep. It might be depression. They hadn't found a trace of Floyd yet. Floyd... every day she missed him... every day she prayed she'd see him again. It was a struggle to smile so she gave up after a while. Everyone in Haywood was very nice now, looked out for each other and there were no secrets, unlike when Bruce was in charge. From the way they treated her it was like they still felt guilty about what had happened when she had last been in Haywood and were trying to make up for things. Jess spotted the little girl running across the yard towards one of the buildings calling for Emma. She still had her little arm in a sling, but seemed to be doing just fine with it. The doctor had said that it should be taken off in a few days and then they would see if Katie could move it, but he had high hopes that she would be fine. The bullet hadn't done too much damage thankfully. It was a shame that such a thing as an innocent child getting shot in the crossfire would happen, but this was the kind of world they lived in now. A sudden pain hit Jess and she doubled over in pain for a second. Those were starting to happen more frequently. Maybe it was time to talk to the doc about- Suddenly someone grabbed her arm and pulled her aside as bullets started flying. "What's happening?!" she asked. "We're being attacked!" a young girl, Audrey, told her and pulled her inside a building for cover. "Stay here and stay away from the windows!" he said, grabbing a gun. Jess was about to speak but was cut off by another sudden pain. She grabbed her stomach as she slid to the floor. "What?!" Audrey asked worriedly. "Were you hit?!" "No," Jess gasped and looked down. "My water broke..." she said, staring in disbelief at the wet patch on her pants. "What does that mean?" she asked. "It means get the doctor. Now." The young girl's eyes widened as she realized what was happening. "God... oh God... CRAP! Okay just... stay here and... breathe and... just breathe!" Racing out the door, she started shouting for the doc. Alone, Jess struggled to relax as another pain hit her like a wave. "You had to pick right now?" she asked the baby incredulously. Her baby was about to be born in the middle of a gun battle. Nothing was ever easy...
