Thanks, in no small part, to a dependency culture. We (the right) have been warning about the growth of government since Roosevelt. Guess what? This is what happens. Yet the same people that whine about police militarization are the same people who want the government to give them healthcare and turn a blind eye to the EPA and IRS. "Of COURSE you may run my healthcare and give legislative authority to unelected bureucrats, but my [i]god[/i] don't you dare give bulletproof vests to cops!"

As if cops can be racist but bureaucrats can't?
