Basic Information Name: Ethan Parker Jr. Nickname/Alias/Etc: Eth, Parker, Sunny, Boy scout Gender: Male Age: 17 Height: 5’6” Weight: 135 lbs Status: Returning Student --- Appearance Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Hazel Ethnicity: Caucasian (Italian, Greek, Irish, Jewish) Physical Appearance: Ethan has a permanent tan to his light olive complexion, but no tan lines. He has a heart-shaped, very boyish face compared to the sharp part in his hair that usually seen on Republicans or news anchors. His eyes are wide and expressive and their color vibrant like topaz. He has one of those bright smiles that completely changes his face, making him look more a child than a teen. Ethan’s body is regrettably soft from a mixture of asthma and a sedentary lifestyle. Much to his astonishment, he’s growing chest hair, but he has been shaving his chin regularly since he was fourteen. Attire: To be honest, he looks like a Mormon missionary. Or an elderly librarian. Or both. He’s all pressed oxford shirts, slacks, comfortable dress shoes fit for an attorney more than a high school student. He has a wide collection of sweater vests, pullovers, and cardigans that he alternates fashionably with the rest of his attire. On weekends, he might be seen in jeans or khakis. --- Personality Outward & Innate Personality: Ethan comes off as skittish and stiff, which is undeniably. Social anxiety on top of years of homeschooling and limited contact with people his age makes it very difficult to approach people. Then comes the problem with stringing together words into sentences without his persistent anxiety-induced stammer. He’s awkward, but he means well. In fact, he would love to be the charming and charismatic guy that’s everyone’s friend. He likes people and he likes listening to people talk, holding discussions and so forth, it just takes him a while to get past the barrier of anxiety. He constantly lives in fear of disappointing somebody, but he’s attentive to other’s needs and picks up on social cues flawlessly. He’s generous. One of his favorite things to do is give gifts to people he likes. He’s terrible at receiving gifts or compliments, however. He’s very well-mannered, gentlemanly towards women as he was raised to be. But he’s prone to overthink things and introduce awkwardness to any social situation at any given moment. Hobbies/Interests: Ethan loves to write. He’s working on his first novel and he has a whole slew of poetry he would never show to anyone ever. He likes reading, mainly the classics and Greek mythology. He’s also a fan of expensive tea and fine dining. His culinary skills aren’t anything to sniff at either. Of course, he likes plants, namely sunflowers. He can relate to them very well. Skills/Talents: His narrative skills in writing are just as good as his expository writing. He’s written quite a few essays for friends over the years, often within a day’s notice. He’s fluent as one can be in Latin and knows a few licks of French and Italian. Prized Possession: His personal copy of the Bible and corresponding cross-shaped bookmark. He can’t live forever on a sun-only diet, maybe as long a few days, but it can be a meager substitute for food if he’s able to get some water. His ability to heal is directly related to how much sun he gets. The more sun, the quicker he heals. Ethan can release energy in the form of a solar flare that can range in size and intensity. Usually the heavier and bigger the output, the slower it flies. A direct hit can be as mild as sunburn or as severe as a third degree burn and worse. He’s warmer than the average person by a couple of degrees. Hot and cold weather don’t affect him very much. Also, warm beverages retain their heat longer when he holds him. He can glow which can be telling to his mood if he’s embarrassed or happy about something. Light Manipulation - He can change the way light reflects off of something, therefore changing its color or the appearance of its texture. For instance, he can make a smooth, white stone appear purple and rough. Or make one object or person blend in with other objects as a way of camouflaging it. Weaknesses/Limitations/Drawbacks: On an average day, Ethan gets enough sun to perform his abilities to half of their maximum strength because he retains energy just a little better than he absorbs it. If he ever got into a serious fight, he’d be pretty screwed. If it’s dark, he’s pretty much screwed after a couple of hours when his energy runs out. As mentioned earlier, he can live off of only energy for a few days before starvation kicks in assuming he’s spending most of his day under direct sunlight. It’s very possible for him to absorb too much sunlight. If he goes days and days under direct sunlight, he can burn out and suffer something like a sunstroke except more violent and possibly fatal. If he releases all of his energy at once, it would create a very powerful flare, but the withdraw from that is the equivalent of a drug user quitting cold turkey for him until he recovers. He has to be touching an object or person for it to change color. He can absorb and use artificial UV light, but he gets a little sick doing it. Other: He’s a proud member of the Book Club, Dinner Club, and Christian Fellowship, even though he’s Catholic.
