Character name: Genevieve Aleron Species: Human Gender: Female Age: 29 [hider2=Appearance][/hider2] Height: Thereabouts 5'9" Weight: *slap* Personality: Genevieve is a very cold individual, preferring to keep to her own, and choosing to associate with her fellow crew as little as possible. Despite this, she still remains sociable to a point with humans, not refusing their contact, but those who interact with her will soon get the impression that she prefers to be alone, if they are perceptive enough. Even still, depending upon her cover, she may try and adjust her bearing to be less cold, but she may still slip back into her own personal traits. With aliens, however, she does not hide her distaste for them, pointedly refusing to speak to them except when absolutely necessary and only giving short and direct answers to any questions. Even further, though this behavior is not documented in her dossier, she has been known to purposefully allow the deaths of alien team-mates when it was within her ability to save their lives. Biography: Born to the higher class Aleron family in Washington State on Earth, Genevieve's early life was very different from the one she leads now, with the wealth of her family leaving her free to pursue what she wanted when she wanted at leisure. As such it was not her original intent to pursue a military career, instead following in her parent's footsteps and entering into the field of music so that she could continue on her father's legacy. Because of the standing of her father, Elric Aleron the famed cellist, Genevieve was easily capable of entering the best musical schools, and receiving lessons from other well known musicians until the age of eighteen when she began her touring with her college around the solar system's colonies. It was about this time that her family had been approached by Ioseph Valinova, a member of the minor cybernetics firm Global Cortex, and unknown to them at the time, a ranking member of the Pan-Solar Confederacy. Valinova had been a longtime family friend, and with the recent end to the war had returned back to Sol in order to revisit his contacts. Despite his presence in the war being mainly in the way of a cybernetics contractor for the ESC military, Valinova had attracted the attention of a pro-aliens group within the ESC after a discussion with other members of his team on the Rahq. This group had tracked him back to Sol and after a good deal of investigative work, had discovered his ties with the PSC and the goals of the corporation. Feeling that they had to act, this group waited until Valinova was alone with the Aleron family at their home on Earth and attacked, torching the home to the ground with everyone inside. Receiving the news of the attack on her family's home, Genevieve was pulled from her trip to return home where she was quickly picked up by a group affiliated with the PSC and escorted to a secure location. It was there that she was briefly reunited with her sister who was the only one to survive the attack, and told of what had happened. At first, she wasn't quite sure what to make of it, having been sheltered by her family's wealth and status from the bulk of the war, but slowly she started to understand the PSC's view of things, and how their way was what was best for humanity. Though she was still trying to come to grips with the reality of what had happened, her sister was not quite as fortunate as first believed, having taken several life-threatening injuries during the attack. As closest kin, Genevieve was asked what should be done for her, knowing that the injuries her sister had taken were too much to recover from. It was then that a member of Global Cortex told her of how her sister could still survive, even though her body would die. Thinking it was the best choice she had, she agreed to have her sister's mind uploaded into a computer and become an AI program, under the conditions that her sister remained free to choose her own path afterwards. With little left for her on Earth, and her sister now as an AI companion, Genevieve had little incentive to return to following her family's legacy, choosing to enter into the ranks of UNISEC and help ensure that their ideals come to pass. Under the advice of the PSC escorts, she joined in with UNISEC's 4th Division as a security enforcer and began training to further serve the PSC and one day avenge her family. Years went by, and she moved through the ranks of the company to eventually become a member of the First Division's Elite Infantry, a group dedicated to serving in the military of the ESC and ensuring human interests remain intact within the government. With several missions behind her as an agent of UNISEC, she has come to the forefront of consideration for the newest mission of the PSC, Operation Long Watch. Under this operation, she has been tasked with joining on with the Durendal as a security officer and ensuring that the captain remains true to not only the ideals of the ESC, but also to the PSC. Though she has been assigned to the mission with full disclosure of the operating boundaries, and retains her AI, Cytherea, it remains unknown for how long the mission will last. As such, she has been given numerous exit-ops instructions for a variety of scenarios as well as instruction by the head of UNISEC that if Jon Welch's intentions should at any point betray those of the PSC, ESC or Mankind in any way, that she has full discretion to terminate the captain.

Callsign: Aera Cura Position: [CLASSIFIED BY THE E.S.C.] (OOC - Joined in as a regular security officer) Equipment: Mission Equipment: UNISEC-DA/23-05a/CA - One of the higher end models of carapace armor from UNISEC, the model 05a/CA features advanced integration of the NIM as well as an additional compartment along the spine to allow for socketing of an AI module. The Gauntlet has also been revised in this version to work more efficiently for stand-alone operatives, with the removal of many of the linking features to UNISEC comms and a more universal link-up that allows the agent to tap into local communications and satellite arrays so that they can operate in non UNISEC territory without support from the fleet. Utilized features of Aera Cura's armor is as follows: - Gravitic Thrusters - Smoke Dischargers - Removable wrist weapons: Short-range energy blades UNISEC-DA/36-IPW/MWS/x03 - The latest version of UNISEC's MWS platform, the x03 is still at it's core the standard MWS/01, firing the 8mm rail-rifle round. However, where it differs is in the adaptability of the platform to adjust more to the types of targets being fired at and changing battlefield conditions. Adding in a new gyroscopic stabilizer to the base platform, the x03 has the ability to provide stable firing from nearly any firing angle with the assistance of the internal computer's adjustments to fire-control. Beyond this, the model utilized by Aera Cura has been modified to accept over-rides from the AI module of her armor, as well as being given a customization in the form of a more low-key paint job to make it seem to be a more typical armament, rather than a high-tech firearm. Along with the standard SBR and MBR attachments for the MWS, Aera Cura has with her the SMG and DSR attachments for the weapon. UNISEC-DA/36-IPW/MWS/x03 - Attachments: - SBR - Short-Barreled Rifle attachment, allowing it to perform that role. Semi-Automatic firing mode only. - MBR - Main-Battle Rifle attachment, allowing it to perform the role of a long-barreled assault rifle. Features Semi-Automatic, Fully-Automatic and Three-Round Burst-Fire modes. - SMG - Small Machine-Gun attachment, shifts the platform to the role of an SMG. Fully-Automatic and Three-Round Burst fire modes only. - DSR - Dedicated Sniper Rifle attachment, allows the weapon to perform the role of a long-range rifle. Semi-Automatic firing mode only. AI Integration Module - Allows the integration of an AI into her suit, particularly her AI, Cytherea. From this module, the AI is able to integrate in with all attached systems of Aera Cura's armor as well as link in with her nervous system and communicate with her in a pseudo-telepathic fashion. Cytherea herself is less an AI, and more so a brain-upload of Genevieve's sister who passed away nearly a decade ago, though this detail is unknown even to her handlers at PSC. Other weapon Attachments: - x5 Multi-role scope - Developed by UNISEC to provide a variable scope for rifles of varying design, this scope features up to five-times magnification for engagements up to 3,000 meters away, as well as Night-Vision, Infra-Red, Ultra-Violet, and EM vision overlays. - Grenade-Launcher - A small tube for launching 25mm grenades from a rail built underneath the barrel of the weapon. - Bayonet - Every now and then someone needs to be stabbed with a gun. Pair of ceramic fighting knives - Constructed of an unidentified ceramic of some kind, these knives are extremely lightweight and durable for what they are, being equivalent to standard issue high-carbon military knives despite weighing less than a quarter. A unique feature of the knives is the self-sharpening nature of the blades, allowing them to retain a lethal edge long after their metallic counterparts have dulled. Both knives are of roughly six inches in length and features serrations along the cutting edge. Ammunition Cache: Eight Cases of 8mm Rail-Rifle rounds at 100 rounds each Three bands of eight 25mm grenades, one incendiary, one chaff, and one standard fragmentation. Two replacement canisters for Carapace Armor launchers, one filled with standard smoke, the other filled with chaff. Non-Mission Equipment: Assorted clothing - Mainly in the form of an array of casual clothes with a few more formal dresses mixed in. Set of old dog-tags identifying a former team-mate as well as her own set. UNISEC modular take-down kit - A kit of tools and cloths used for the cleaning and repair of UNISEC arms and armor. Contains a wide variety of multi-tools as well as computer within the kit that holds detailed knowledge on how to maintenance the various arms and armor assigned to the user. Pass-coded to Aera Cura's genetic marker. Skills: Knife-Fighter - Trained in the use of knives as part of her basic training, Aera Cura is adept in the use of bladed weapons in close confines, as well as being able to disarm and redirect opponents if she herself is not armed. Trained Soldier - Pretty much as stated, Aera Cura is a highly adept soldier, trained by both the ESC and UNISEC in military warfare. Most of her skills lie in the field of being capable of operating under fire and being capable of neutralizing threats as they appear, but beyond this, she is also trained to maintain the equipment she uses on a daily basis and understand how to effect repairs on them if needed. Special Operations - Despite being sent to the Durendal as part of the security and ground-teams, Aera Cura is not trained in squad-based tactics or warfare, her training more focused on individual covert operations. This is where her role on the Durendal is truly revealed, in that she is skilled in working under cover, especially as part of military organizations, and when able, she is capable of executing targets with little suspicion.

A brief description on some of the terms used in my app :E [hider2=Carapace Armor] When being shot is in your daily planner, then it's time to get yourself a set of UNISEC Carapace armor. Layered with ceramic composites and given a gloss of heavy lacquer coating over the surface, the suit creates a multilayered defense against most infantry arms, capable of a wide variety of kinetic projectiles. The lacquer coating also enables the suit to maintain a resistance to energy weapons, providing a barrier that absorbs and redirects energy away from the point of contact. Because the suit uses non-metals in its construction, it maintains a light weight and gives the user a higher degree of freedom of movement compared to hard-armor suits that provide similar protection. In addition, the suit maintains a high degree of adaptability, allowing the user to equip a large selection of additional equipment to the suit and have it all fully integrated. This is due to the standard suite of electronics built in that connects to the user's nervous system via their NIM implants. Beyond the standard carapace armor, UNISEC also develops a more advanced version simply called the Advanced Carapace Armor, which features a much larger selection of additional equipment and many more features. Foremost among these features is the use of higher grade synthetic ceramics that provide a much more durable hard armor, as well as a more advanced lacquer coating that utilizes heat-treated titanium fibers to seal the layers together more firmly and allow for higher resistance to energy weapons. Basic features of the ACA is a form of personal atmosphere system that integrates with the NIM and regulates the suit's internal atmosphere to adapt to the changing conditions outside and provide a greater degree of comfort for the user. This is further enhanced by the use of vacuum seals to separate the internal conditions of the suit from all outside modifiers and allow the user operate in conditions they normally would not be able to in standard carapace armor. In addition to these features, the ACA is hardened against EM attacks and features a screen against electronic interference, allowing the user to utilize chaff screens and not be negatively affected.[/hider2] [hider2=The NIM] Used in everything from power-armor applications, to starship navigations, the Neural Impulse Manifold, or NIM is the innovation that evolved as a counter to computer-intelligences by UNISEC and their partner corporations. The age of induction to the NIM varies between corporations, with UNISEC troopers gaining their NIM-Jacks with their promotion into the Third Divisions, and Global Cortex plugging their pilots upon entrance into the academy. NIM-Jacks work through a series of sockets drilled into the subject's body along key-points of the spine, and sometimes along the limbs as well. More advanced NIM-Jacks are plugged directly into the skull, tapping into the spinal-cord and brain-stem, with a rare few taking the chances involved with NIM-Jacks directly into lobes of the brain. However the NIM-Jacks are utilized, the first "Jacking" through a new port is always an experience of excruciating pain, as the signal fires along the Central Nervous System and back out the port in order to ensure functionality. Often times users are left drooling on the floor, their body spasming as the NIM integrates itself to the neural pathways of the user. More experienced users are generally more prepared, though nothing can truly prepare someone for the pain of every nerve-fiber being fired at once. The nature of the Manifold changes depending on how it's accessed, and where the user is. Most users never actually "see" the Manifold itself, and only see the programs brought up by haptic relays. Those who do see the relays are mostly of the pilot class, with few others able to comprehend the infinite nature of the Manifold. Pilots see the Manifold in its purest form, that of absolute data. Within the spheres of corporate influence the Manifold is seen as vast monoliths of data, with the actual reality overlaid. Outside the influence of both the corporations and other advanced cultures, the Manifold is seen as chaotic noise, the nature of the Manifold exerting itself freely without established programs to dictate order. Though the technology of NIM-Jacking has progressed significantly since introduced some thousands of years ago, there are still minor variables that have eluded the best of Third Helix and others. The scale of failure varies, with most of the failures simply dying on first hook-up. This is by far one of the worst malfunctions, as the user is locked in a state of constant nerve-fiber impulses, the NIM-Jack not able to recognize the signal it sent out and subjecting the user to a long and painful death. On rarer occasions, the user becomes locked within the Manifold, and can never leave its pathways. To one of these unfortunates, the world is only seen in flows of cascading data and targetting information, the relentless assault of infinite data breaking their mind.[/hider2] [hider2=The Pan-Solar Confederacy] Founded nearly two-hundred years ago alongside the colonization of Mars, this group of twelve corporations came together in the interests of insuring mankind's dominance among the stars in the face of the growing expansion of humanity. Headed by founder Ray Leonard of United Security Solutions Corporation, or UNISEC, this council of corporations sees mankind as the only species worthy of inhabiting the stars and all other species as unworthy and fit only to work for the benefit of man. Because of their ideals, these corporations operate mainly in the shadows of larger corporations, working with the governments of various worlds and other corporations that share their ideals, and furthering their advanced technology without the use of alien corruption. For the most part, those in the employ of the PSC operate alongside those of the ESC and many other organizations in secret, maintaining an act in order to avoid suspicion. Very rarely will any of the PSC directly identify as such, with even the known operatives of the organization denying any direct contact with the group. Among the ESC it is believed that some of the military may be involved with the PSC and UNISEC specifically, but any ties remain unproven. Despite their obvious goal of human dominance of the stars, actual acts of aggression and terrorism against aliens within the ESC is very rare, as the group does not yet feel it is time to act. Those who do commit such acts are quickly cut off from the group, and many times secretly executed in order to distance PSC's involvement with the issue. At least once it has been found, and quickly covered up by the ESC, that the ESC and PSC have cooperated on covering up an act of terrorism against non-humans in order to keep ties between the two intact.[/hider2] [hider2=The MWS] Originally prototyped early in the 21st century, the Modifiable Weapons System, or MWS, is a platform meant to provide a means of higher adaptability to the infantryman without the need for resupply or additional specialized roles. Built on the base of a highly complex computer-controlled firing system, the weapon uses a rail-system to fire an 8mm projectile at high velocities to provide stopping power equivalent to most higher end projectile weapons. Where the weapon system really shines is the ability to add attachments to the base platform that integrate into the CCFS and shift the weapons role into that of the attachment utilized. This allows for the operator to carry three or four lightweight attachments to one weapon, rather than multiple full-body weapons and greatly reduces the weight load of the user. The main advantage of this is that at no point is the barrel ever needed to be swapped out, with the use of a multi-piece rail-system, the MWS is able to use the 8mm round in all functions with performance equal to that of the stand-alone models. How the weapon is able to perform this roles is through the use of the CCFS to alter the rate of fire and velocity dependent upon what modules are being used, and in more advanced models, what targets are being shot at. The weapon system is also extremely lightweight, being composed of synthetic materials and non-metals, as well as using minimal moving parts in the construction to allow for a highly streamlined weapon that is capable of performing in a wide variety of environments. Perhaps one of the more interesting features of the weapon is the rheological firing system, in that the interior of the weapon contains a smart-liquid that responds to the input from the CCFS and relays that to the varied systems of the weapon and any attachments hooked in to the universal rail system. Standard to all UNISEC weapons, the Universal Rail System is a built-in feature for the MWS, allowing not only for the user to adapt the weapon to whatever role may be needed for the current engagement, but also for them to attatch a wide variety of secondary equipment to the weapon. Beginning at the base platform, the rails run the length of the weapon and are extended with the use of the weapon modules to allow for even more additional space for attachments.[/hider2]
