Civil unions aren't the same as marriage, as has been stated. And a straight couple can get married without it being religious. We got married with a JP and a non religious ceremony. Religion has shit all to do with it these days. It's only something the religious folk drag out because they really have no valid arguement that gays should not get married. If their church decides not to perform a ceremony, that's on them. But legally, they should be allowed to because of things like Awson mentioned, only a spouse can have access too. Time to stop the seperate but equal crap because we all know that it doesn't work and it's not true.
