Well I wouldn't make the actual thread into a webcomic for multiple reasons. There are lots of characters and they can depart or leave the story at any time creating narrative confusion. The plot is not set as it is contingent on the players so that'd be another difficulty. And the time the rp is set in along with the characters involved would leave a lot of readers confused because the intial events haven't been thoroughly explained in the IC and a fair bit of the characters have unconventional origins that would be difficult to relate to readers. 

A prequel webcomic featuring the actual origins of the major heroes and villains that explains how the world changed would be the best direction to go to in my opinion. And yes I do like big teams of heroes.
