You ever watched an old science movie? You know those two rods that make a V shape that have electricity running up them that you can see? thats a jacobs ladder, just without the electrodes at the end.

also I suppose its more like a faceguard than a crown. think the ladder is going straight up from a 'headband' that saround his forehead, with 'fang' like things coming down where his ears would be, if he had any, or there abouts.
