#9 Scarlett's eyes fluttered open at the sudden impact of something on her back. She was facing a wall, but it wasn't exactly a wall. The surface she was on was cold and there was a hum of an engine in the background. It took her a minute before she came completely to her senses, remembering where she was and who she was with. She had witnessed the small group that they had spontaneously made be torn apart by thugs, and then her companion get knocked out for not wanting to comply. She had fallen asleep crying when the sun set and hoped it was all some sort of nightmare. Her eyes started watering and she quickly closed them, calming herself down by controlling her breathing. She was grateful that she was facing the wall of the pickup truck rather than another person. At least they wouldn't see her cry. [I] "You.... Need... To.... Wake....
