Kieran heard the others approaching before he saw them. He decided it was best to adopt a wild form that was built for speed, so he could scout for danger and be the first in a fight. Given the forest environment they were currently in, a wolf would be his fastest available form. Plus, Cana loved it when he turned into a wolf like her... it made them more like a tiny pack rather than just being lifelong companions. When Nyala stepped out to greet the others, Kieran followed after her in his elven form, choosing to change forms right in front of them. It was best for them to know who and what they were working with. It was best for them to be afraid of him. A small part of him liked it when he caused fear in others, he tried to blame that on constantly being in predatory forms... but there was most likely more to it than that alone. Kieran slung his bag to the ground, along with his trusted spear wrapped up in it. Power vibrated under his skin as he channeled the wilds and fur started to erupt from his skin. Before long, the sound of bones cracking filled the air as he exploded into wolf form. Standing beside Cana, he looked impressively large for a wolf and his fur was black as pitch. As a few shocked city folk looked on, Kieran slumped his lupine head down and wiggled his bag and spear over his shoulders and across his back. Once it was fairly secure, he took off running to the front of the group.
