Jak, listening to Sonya speak to Fionn, she heard a phone beep and Sonya rapidly change the subject. Apparently they were going to Daisuke's house now. She decided to wait there for a bit until they left... "C'mon, we need to go to Daisuke's house. You too Jak." Jake seized up, her face turning red at being found out. At least Fionn's not that perceptive... Jak thought as she left her hiding place. Hopefully they wouldn't be too mad. At least Sonya didn't sound angry... "Sorry, I didn't want to interrupt your conversation. So, I, uh.... hid. I didn't really hear anything, except that we were going to Daisuke's house. So... I wasn't hiding all that long." Jak said, deciding that lying once was enough for today. Even if it was a partial lie. She was nervous, but mostly about being caught red-handed. What did you think would happen? Sonya wouldn't notice? She kicked everyone flat on their backs in a few seconds. Well, at least she managed to fool Fionn, that had to count for something, considering he had the ability to just blend in no matter what. --- Artemis swallowed, fearful that he would refuse after musing over her offer. It was a thing the mafia didn't do often, probably, and not to mention they had to ensure that her Dad and Mom were safe. Her mother would be tricker, as she was still bedridden when Arty had left. A pang of homesickness ran through her, but she covered it up quickly. She couldn't show fear. Mafioso probably smelled fear, and maybe other strange things. The Dying Will Flames... why can these guys summon them, what do they mean? "Of course," Haijme replied at last, his bored expression giving nothing away. "You pass." Artemis stared at him for a moment. What did she pass? As she stared at him, as though mere looks would help her understand what he meant. Then he said that she'd be staying with the other kids, and she slowly nodded. It wasn't like she was even expecting to be able to head for the HQ right away. Especially given her... past. It didn't matter, those politicians and other groups didn't need all that money anyway. They were fine. After a moment, Artemis realized her hand had been hanging in the air while Haijme talked the brown haired crying boy from last night. "I'm.... just gonna go get some breakfast," Arty said awkwardly, breaking the tension that had been in the room by sliding out to grab whatever was left of the pancakes.
