The land of Ahlunda has been long plagued with a darkness. Not a shadow of some dark king, but of a race of creatures.

Dragons.

Beasts of immense power and evil, dragons come in a wide variety of shapes(though they are almost always large). Dragons resembling reptiles are most common, but stranger forms of the malevolent creatures exist. Without reason, they come to devour humans, destroy towns, and sew chaos across the land. Worse still, even the most proud and skilled of knights find themselves unable to slay a dragon under their own power. No, even the weakest of dragons can claim the lives of dozens of soldiers before being slain. Travel in Ahlunda is filled with peril, as a dragon could strike at any moment. The forests have become dangerous places, filled with bandits who seek to prey upon those in fear of the draconic plague. It's been so long since the humans of Ahlunda did not live in fear of the beasts.

And yet, there is hope. For each year, a number of children are born who exceed the abilities expected of a human being. They exhibit strength, often beyond what their appearance would suggest, and agility in full armor that even the most powerful of knights cannot attain. These children invariably find a rather simple calling: The slaying of dragons. A single one of these Dragonslayers can slay a dragon that claimed hundreds of lives in single combat. Bandits have come to fear such people, as they could easily destroy their bands of thieves.

These Dragonslayers wander the land, seeking to fight back against the evil monsters who have plagued Ahlunda for so long. Some do it for their own reasons, others for the good of humanity. Regardless, Dragons have begun to fall, and hope is slowly returning to the people.

And yet... terror has take a town near the Great Iron Mountain in the North of Ahlunda. News tells of not one, but many dragons dwelling within the mountain.

Okay, um, trying something new!

Basically this is a fantasy RP taking place in the land of Ahlunda, which has a dragon problem. Now, to get some things out of the way, while this isn't "low" fantasy, it's one of the settings with a bit less magic. It's there, but not very widespread and more confined to certain people or items. As for the Dragonslayers, they're the player characters. Their abilities tend to be of the 'can run at full speed one-handing a greatsword and pulling off feats of acrobatics at the same time'.

For tone, this RP is serious. However, it is not without moments of lightness and ultimately I'm not looking for anything [i]too[/i] dark.
