[Accepting] --- Four Towers is a sprawling underground exotic research facility located in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States. Its real name and employer are lost; instead, the facility is known by the only above-ground structures: four squat watertower-like ventilation and elevator shafts arranged in a perfect rectangle. Even the employees don't know who really hired them, and they've been paid to forget the question. Research is conducted towards the nature of dark matter, psychic and ethereal phenomena, applications of theoretical physics, and genetic and viral engineering. All of this, of course, goes horribly wrong over the course of five days. The incidenct starts on Thursday, July 18th, steadily grows disastrous over the weekend, and ends in the wholesale destruction of the facility and a 5-mile quarantine zone. Survivors are rumored to roam the hills and nearby river, however, these rumors have been strongly discouraged. --- Think Half-Life's Black Mesa Research Facility, Portal's Aperture Science Enrichment Center, Resident Evil's Umbrella Corporation's secret labs, The Island' facility, or Dollhouse's main facility. Basically, a sprawling, secret, underground, this-can't-possibly-go-wrong Science complex. It is, of course, doomed. The nature of the doom is partially up to the players - each application includes a field for "role in the incident". As the RP progresses, the gaps will get filled in through NPC's and various bits of lore lying around. This isn't a "stop the horrible scenario from happening" RP, this is a "survive the horrible scenario"/"die spectacularly" kind of RP. You'll be playing a band of survivors - scientists, assistants, security, office workers, maybe an administrator or two, or possibly even a VIP. Your first post will be meeting up in a small supply closet somewhere buried deep in the facility. Inside the closet are janitorial supplies, one handgun (nobody knows how it got there, but everyone has their own suspicions) with a full magazine of 12 shots, a crumpled ten dollar bill, a box of seven flashlights with batteries, office supplies, a bloody pen next to a piece of paper with "Cha" written on it, a crowbar, a screwdriver, and a bloody SD card. Do they have friends in the Administration? Why? You don't have to have every department's relationship, just the noteworthy ones for your character.] Role in Creating the Incident: [Every player character had a hand in causing the incident. Your character, of course, may not want to admit this.] Where You Were and What You Were Doing 5 Minutes Ago: [That is, 5 minutes before your character crawled/walked/fell from the ceiling vents in(to) the closet] Rules: -Don't be a jerk. -Contribute to the story. -Demonstrate a reasonable command of English spelling and grammar. -No AI. Portal told the story of a rogue AI far better than I think we ever could. So the Four Towers facility was in no way involved with the research of AI. ---
[Civilian and general use] -VIP Quarters and Lounge -General Dormitories -Recreation Center and Gymnasium -Low-Security Galley and Cafeteria -High-Security Galley and Cafeteria -Show Rooms A, B, & C -Executive Conference Room [Security] -Security Checkpoints -Armory -Detention Center -Security Dormitories [Mechanical] -Maintenence Shafts -Mechanical Rooms -Ventilation Ducts -Central Ventilation Pump Room -Power Plant -Waste Management Facility -Toxic Waste Management Facility [Administration & Miscellaneous] -Offices -Central Control Rooms 1 & 2 (located on opposite ends and heights of the facility) -Server Room and Data Center -Manufacturing Plant -Warehouse -Tram System [extensive. stations are named after Cincinnati neighborhoods.] [Science] -Various Laboratories [each is devoted to a subset of the four primary research groups. see "Research" for more info] -Biological Sample Storage Pens -Materials Testing -Robotics -Biological Isolation Labs -Exotic Materials Storage -Exotic Particle Detectors (think Kamioka Observatory or the LUX detector - big giant rooms to detect particles that have passed through the other side of the planet) -Test Subject Dormitories

Research is divided into four categories: Dark Matter: The search for dark matter, the identification of the properties of dark matter (as in, what the hell is it), and research into the possible exploitation of Dark Matter. Supernatural Phenomena: Focused on two, specifically: ghosts and psychics. Psychics here referring to telekinesis and telepathy. Research is directed towards the cause of such phenomena, whether or not we can induce said phenomena, and subsequent exploitation of it. Applied Sciences: A catch-all category, really. Research into teleportation, quantum computing, and faster-than-light communication, to name a few. Biological: Specifically focused on genetic and viral engineering. Beyond those four avenues, there are a host of other support staff - programmers, lab assistants, and mechanics.

The security staff is divided into two tiers - High-Security and Low-Security, for guarding high-security and low-security areas of the facility. Aside from High-Security having more access to restricted areas, the difference between the two comes with their standard loadout. All security officers are issued a taser and baton. High-Security officers are also issued a pistol. If they're high enough on the security foodchain - such as the Head of Security, the various departmental Captains, or the internal Incident Response Team - security personnel can be augmented. Augments are "proven" experimental genetic and viral enhancements that acheive various effects, depending on what the biology team was workin on at the time. So, what's in the Armory? Aside from tasers, batons, and pistols, the armory features shotguns, rifles, teargas, riot shields and body armor. Nonlethal "beanbag" shells and "Sticky Foam" crowd-control sprayers are also available.

[hider2=Level 18][/hider2]

Aiden Strider, High Security (Test Subject Dormitories). - Redwing Nina Brunner, Test Subject - Tatsua Aiisen Aaron White, High Security (IRT) - The Silver Paladin Ashley, Robotics - ChibiYuki Vince Turano, Science (Applied Sciences) - xiledx Harold Gerwulf, Maintenence (Waste Material Neutralization and Containment) - resiak verdungert Daigo La BĂȘte, Science (Computer Scientist) - VerifyinTr1gIDs Karina Narachi, High Security (Sergeant) - Amaranth
