Takeshi was really beside himself, there wasn't any sign of Narbu here. It seemed recently inhabited, the home he had checked, yet there was no one in there. Something wasn't quite adding up, he was thinking it over while he went back to join the others. It was possible the place was recently vacated, but for what purpose? Was something going on in this world as well? Staring at the ground in thought he noticed a shadow forming around him, initially mistaking it for a passing cloud. But clouds didn't grow bigger as they moved, and looking up he noticed clouds sure as hell didn't have horns, or fur. In the blink of an eye for bulky figures landed around him, kicking up a massive cloud of snow in the process on impact. Thankfully he'd avoided all of their pounces, jumping out from between them and moving back to Shu and Viral. Well, they found the Narbu, yay! Except these four seemed to want to smash them into bits, not so yay. Dusting himself off he glanced back at Viral, smiling slightly, "I'm working on it, relax. I've got this."

"Hey... Listen, guys. Let's stop trying to crush each other for just a second, yeah? We're just here to talk." Takeshi wasn't exactly sure how to play a diplomat, but he figured just being polite ought to do the trick. Or... Polite as he could be. Smiling he stepped closer to the Narbu despite their glowering at him, stopping a few meters away with his hands up defensively. "We're not here to pick a fight with you, we're only here to ask you for some help. You see, we're with the rebels. You know... The people who sort of freed you from the Saiyans and all? Korian, that's the guy in charge, he wants us to ask you to lend him a hand. That's all, we're just here to try and recruit some help for beating the king." Short, succinct and to the point, no sense in wasting any time beating around the bush. Takeshi realized of course they had no scouters, but gave the benefit of the doubt that they may know some of the common language. Not wanting to give the wrong idea he gestured over his shoulder to Viral and Shu. "We're all rebels, kinda, and we're helping beat the Saiyans. This whole recruiting business is voluntary too, we're not going to force you into our ranks like the Saiyans did, so don't worry."

Giving it a moment or so for a reply there was nothing but silence following those words. Had the Narbu understood what was said? Or were they just not having any of it? Takeshi waited a little while, shifting back and forth on his feet a bit impatiently. When it didn't seem like they were answering any time soon he let out a sigh, rubbing at his head exasperatedly. "Uh... Do you understand me? We have scouters, back at the ship... We can bring you some. Though I don't know why I'm explaining that if you don't understand me." Hindsight was a real pain, they ought to have considered that before hand. Finally, some sort of vocalization came from the Narbu, only it wasn't exactly a home-coming. Rather it was an angry growl, and yet again they pounced, the first leaping right at the Saiyan. Jumping back and avoiding a heavy arm, Takeshi then darted to the side as a leg nearly smashed him into the ground. Upon coming to a stop a large fist flew right at his stomach, and the only thing he could do was put his hands out to try and catch it. He stopped the attack, sort of, being pushed back a fair bit as the arm extended to its full length.

"Oh come on! I didn't even do anything!" Takeshi said, pushing the Narbu back irritably. This is why talking to people was such a pain, half the time they didn't listen. Meeting the glares of the four Narbu he then turned to Viral, pointing at the four annoyed. "You saw that! I didn't do anything, they're the ones being a pain!" And another growl, oh come on! This one didn't sound as close as he'd expect, but it was still loud enough to be heard. Glancing up in the direction of the noise his eyes widened finding the source. It was another Narbu, only this one was huge. Narbu on their own, from his experience, were big. But this one was at least a head taller than all the others, and bigger too. It landed behind the four with a resounding crash, actually shaking the ground on impact and making Takeshi jostle slightly. Lifting his head to glance up at the final member he smiled uncertainly, raising a hand in a small wave. "Uh... Hi there."

Just what was this pup trying to do? He was a Saiyan, of that there was no doubt. And their experience with Saiyans were anything but pleasant, it was a miracle they hadn't simply killed the group on the spot. They were with the rebels too, was that their story? Sure, rumor had it that a handful of Saiyans were part of the rebel force that freed them, but it was just a rumor. Nothing sound, certainly nothing to put their faith into. Growling again the Chieftain stood upright, coming now at least a meter above his companions. "Saiyans... Are rebels...? It has to be a lie, your kind are the perpetrators..." the Narbu growled, speaking with surprising proficiency. "We were forced into service under your kind, under that girmask of a king. You expect us to believe you, y'ves tal cathul do?" Okay, slightly proficient, that was definitely some alien speak thrown in.

Takeshi barely seemed to know how to talk to people so Viral didn’t fully know why he put him in charge, but he did think it was better that a Saiyan talk to these men when he probably looked like some unknown alien to him. Watching the Narbu carefully when they approached, Viral moved closer to Shu to keep the guy away from harm if it ever came close, especially when Takeshi was only greeted with angry stares. These aliens were dangerous and Takeshi was hardly treating them with any sort of respect, his casual little speech already sealing whatever chance they had to be formal and gain their trust. Letting out an annoyed sigh, he looked away when he was pointed at before moving Shu away from the crowd, at least enough so he could fly off if he needed to get away from the crowd.

Of course things would only go from bad to worse as everything went silent, the Narbu only giving him a hard staring at as he tried to reach through a language barrier. That was never going to be the right way to go and he completely threw it with that. Watching them carefully, he pulled back as they leaped at Takeshi and tried to beat him down as if they were his enemy. They shouldn’t be too much of a problem for Takeshi when they appeared to be warning shots, watching as he repelled the attack and could only complain again, “Would you pay attention??” he snapped at him as another Narbu jumped in, only this time it was the biggest of them all.

Of course their Chieftain would decide to jump in eventually, but what was worse was he was probably the smarter and angrier than the others. Takeshi was obviously not the right choice to take here, Vegeta probably would have been better as a speaker in the end. Looking between them all, when the Chieftain spoke his full attention went to him, watching carefully as he only spoke of old news. Seemed this guy hadn’t been informed that the Saiyans were gone from here, at least the ones that weren’t the rebels. Glancing at Shu, he soon let out a growl and moved forward, “Takeshi, protect your brother, will you?” he spoke, having enough of him trying.

The Chieftain looked pretty tough and large, but at least he was willing to speak more than the other Narbu. He had a feeling they could all understand them without the scouters, especially when the Saiyans had been here once before. Staring up at the Narbu, he kept a confident stance as if showing he wasn’t afraid, “Has news not reached you that the Saiyan Kingdom has been repelled? That there’s Saiyans willing to fight against them?” he spoke up, looking a little annoyed, “Would you turn down a chance to fight against them in one final stand, you and your warriors? That’s what we’ve come here for…we want to dethrone the King! If you refuse then fine, we’ll move on…but know that if we don’t finish him off soon he may conquer your planet again, which is why we have to now…”

Takeshi knew he wasn't a negotiator, but he figured he'd have made a bit more of an impact than this. All he seemed to be doing was aggravating the aliens, and he wasn't even being rude! Sure, maybe some more respect couldn't have hurt, a bit of reverence for their essential hosts. Far as he was concerned though they were not exactly staying here, just passing through. And formalities were such a drag, they made things take an unnecessary long time. Perhaps there was a point to those, he found. Being swung at like that wasn't a sign of successful talks. Matters went from inconvenient to straight up bad when a larger Narbu appeared. He had to be the head honcho, he just had this air of "I'm going to stomp you" about him. Lovely, so now the boss was here. Well perhaps he would have more luck getting through to this one. Or... Maybe not. Takeshi didn't know what he had been called, or what was said, but he was smart enough to recognize the tone as an insult. Before he could make a potentially disastrous comeback Viral intervened. "What? I thought you wanted me to do this?" he asked, frowning as Viral just walked on by him. Fine, the Beastman could be their outlet then. Turning around he went back over to Shu, huffing as he folded his arms over his chest. "Stupid negotiations..." he grumbled.

The Chieftain had no interest in speaking with a pup, he wouldn't demean himself by doing such a thing. Watching Takeshi slink off then was a welcome change of pace, and Viral looked more someone he could relate to. If nothing else this one was more battle hardened, the Narbu could see that just at a simple glance. Far more so than either of the Saiyans, even combined. "We know the Saiyans were beaten, ver gast un c'ers. But all Saiyans fight for the same reason, for selfish goals. Rebels are no different. The fact you only come here now, to ask us to fight, is to do such a thing. Gras teah no fer larat, we are not blind." These sentiments of glory and fame, they didn't appeal to him. Yes the Narbu were warrior-like, but they weren't without civility. They were not mindless drones one could simply direct to a fray, they only fought for good reason. "Rebels freed us, I acknowledge this. But we owe nothing because of that. Det ful has grata yue bersch. If you want our loyalty, prove to me you are worthy allies. From what I see of you, you're nothing but pups. You seem strong, but looks deceive. We will not ally ourselves with weaklings."

"Hey, just who are you calling weak?!" Takeshi snapped, gesturing angrily at the Chieftain. "We're the sons of the King, you know! My brother and I, we're strong! And so is Viral! We're probably stronger than you or your men!" This was probably exactly what Viral didn't want happening, but he couldn't really expect anything less, could he? Of course Takeshi was bound to snap at being called weak, especially when he perpetuated himself as a strong fighter.

Rather than get angry at being snapped at the Chieftain grinned, bearing a row of sharp teeth. "The pup has fire, as many do!" he laughed, leaning over slightly and turning his head to look at Viral. "Saiyans, if nothing else, are dedicated to battle. True warriors, even the weakest. What of you, I wonder? Roe cait phal, ahrk morah. Have you the courage to fight me, one on one? You, who are so battle hardened, have you the courage?" Perhaps he would entertain the notion of joining them, but only just that. Unless given very good reason the Chieftain had no reason to commit his people to battle, there was no reason to lose warriors in a battle they had no part in. Taking revenge on the Saiyans was tempting, but aligning themselves with the very people they ought to be fighting was counter-intuitive. "Give us reason to join, show us you can make a difference. Succeed, and we will help. Fail, ough ou'um sul lok, and we will send you away with nothing. All you must do is last ten minutes in battle with me."

Shu didn’t know what to make of the aliens, even if he had seen the Elite before. They were all so big and he was so small, he probably looked like a tiny mouse to them. If he was able to look innocent and not a threat then they would leave him alone and luckily they were ignoring him for the most part. Feeling a little worried when Viral moved away from him and told Takeshi to protect him. He didn’t know if Takeshi would disobey this and just go on trying to threaten these guys with his words, but thankfully he went over him all while looking a little angry. He didn’t know if this was going to work out well after all, but if they didn’t want to go out for fighting then they didn’t need to feel forced. Staring up at Takeshi, he moved closer to him before looking back at the Chieftain, “He’s…really big…” he muttered, moving around behind Takeshi, “I’m scared of him…b-but still being brave…”

Viral couldn’t be bothered with Takeshi’s complaining, especially when they needed to be adults here. This alien should be respected and not talked down to like a child, nothing like Takeshi was treating him as with such informality. Staring up at him, he narrowed his gaze at the Chieftain’s words, giving an angry glance back at Takeshi as he tried to protest it before moving his attention back to the Chieftain, “…Of course…you owe them nothing. Fighting for you because you could not fight the Saiyans”, he spoke calmly, “I am no pup and you can see that. I can tell by the way you look at me as you try to stare into my soul, but you see only darkness and emptiness all while trying to fill it with empty excuses to refuse. I am not weak…”

Viral was in no mood for talking this long especially when he could be doing something about it and show them they really meant business. Viral knew these aliens were warriors at heart, that much was obvious by the way they looked and lived, but their refusal was just childish. Staring up at the Chieftain, he folded his arms and gave him a narrow stare, “You challenge me? How noble to grant me such honour…” he spoke, his eyes only going back to Takeshi for a second before back to the Chieftain. The challenge was suitable and made sense, but if they were any sort of warrior then death upon losing was always a possibility. He wasn’t afraid of dying and he wouldn’t kill the Chieftain, especially when he had to last just 10 minutes. Grunting, he unbuckled his belt with his cleaver, pulling it off and taking off his scarf, “Very well. I’ll fight with honour and not use weapons, just claws…” Wrapping up his scarf he gave his items a quick toss back at Takeshi and Shu, “You care for my stuff! This will not take long”.

The Chieftain had no interest in joining the rebels, not without good cause. It was difficult to invest your warriors into something you weren't sure would succeed too. Just because those boys were Saiyans did not mean they were powerful, so putting stock in them solely for their heritage meant little. If he was to agree to any sort of alliance it had to be clear that their allies were capable and ready to do battle. Making a remark about not owing the rebels he couldn't help but note the snide comment Viral made in response to it. A shot to their pride, but the Chieftain again did his best not to take the bait and get annoyed. "We would have beaten the Saiyans, given time. They split up our warriors, tried to keep us from organizing. Cowards, that's the only reason we never overturned them." A collective of Narbu like they had now, even only five in number, were capable of fending off a pair of Elites easily. They weren't a people to be trifled with and the King knew that, hence his extensive measures to keep any sort of uprisings from happening. "Are you truly not weak, or does your pride speak for you? Ra'al soom vae, lok zen, we shall find out."

"We will join the rebels, but only if you prove your mettle. We do not fight with weaklings, we pick our allies carefully. If you can prove to me you are strong then we will consider your request," the Chieftain explained, "If you beat me I will even send word to other Chieftains and you may have greater numbers still." The likelihood of Viral winning their spar was slim in the Narbu's mind. Chieftains were picked on their military prowess primarily, with knowledge of other things second. With roughly a dozen Chieftains across the planet each was particularly strong in their own rights. Basically put, Viral was fighting someone who could take down an Elite on their own. "Honor? A man that appreciates order and rank, I see my judgement was right. Cur ashk no mal, this should be an interesting duel."

Takeshi was all snippy over being called a pup, and basically being overlooked. He was a perfectly capable fighter too, why wasn't he battling the Chieftain? Viral hadn't been feeling himself as of late, letting the Beastman do it just seemed like poor judgement. Viral was going through with it though, and he knew voicing any complaints now was only going to fall on deaf ears. Catching Viral's cleaver when it was tossed back he looked down at the weapon, smiling slightly before glancing back at their friend. "You better win Viral. If that guy thinks you're the strongest of us you can't lose, I hope you know that." They needed to put their best foot forward if this was a contest of strength, meaning Viral was going to have to give it his all.

The Chieftain made his men spread out to allow space, the four of them forming a loose circle around the group. Reaching back into his sash the Narbu removed a long blade of his own, tossing it to the side as the sharp edge stuck into the ground. "Formal combat, no weapons. It has been a long time since I've done this, I look forward to testing my strength against yours." A first glance would give him the clear advantage, being far larger and bulkier than Viral. Experience told him never to make assumptions based on appearances however. Small though Saiyans may be they couldn't be taken lightly, probably not even these two pups by that logic. Even so, they didn't carry the same sort of weight this one did, the Beastman was without a doubt the more challenging opponent. Rolling his head and cracking both his neck and shoulders the Chieftain smiled toothily, hunching over and flexing his claws. "Let us see what you can do, dar'um. Show me the strength you carry."

Viral had no reason to be afraid of this guy, especially when size hadn’t been an issue before. He was certain he was going to win against this guy, especially when he had the speed and strength to combat this guy. He may annoy him, but he’d still be able to deliver some good punches and slashes before the ten minutes were up. If he did end up struggling then the best thing to do would be to transform, but even that was risky. His personality certainly changed when he changed and he couldn’t help that, but he had been practising and maybe he’ll be able to keep control for long enough until the time was up and he’d be able to change back before anything happened. He thought of himself as fairly ready to go, but it might be tricky if he couldn’t keep up. He needed to have confidence, especially when this man thought he was the greatest warrior here.

“If you think strength has to do with how much muscle you have, you’re going to be surprised”, he spoke lowly, giving his knuckles a crack, “You should take care with underestimating someone”. Despite the size of the guy, worrying about that was going to be a waste of time. He wasn’t going to underestimate the possible speed of this alien, knowing just because he was large didn’t mean he wasn’t fast. He could easily end up getting smacked like Takeshi if he wasn’t careful, but he was smarter than that and much more capable. Looking back to Takeshi, he groaned and looked away once more, finding him to be increasingly annoying with his lack of faith, “Is that supposed to be a joke?? I’m not gonna lose!”

Watching the other Narbu move around, Viral rubbed his wrists as he waited for the Chieftain to get himself ready, hoping he would at least be able to follow his own rules and not sneak out a hidden weapon, “Hmph, every day I battle”. Moving to the opposite side of the ring, Viral faced the Chieftain and let out a sigh, moving his claws to the side and spread his feet apart, “Don’t call me that…I am Viral. I will win your challenge!” Moving quickly, Viral initiated the challenge first and moved immediately around the Chieftain, trying to out-manoeuvre any possible attack and trying to strike from behind as he constantly moved. If he could keep out of the way of his horns and claws he should be fine, at least for ten minutes.

Viral looked more than ready to do battle, that was good. There was no honor or fun in fighting an unprepared opponent, the Chieftain would have no less. Smiling amused he lowered his head slightly, snorting through his nose audibly, "You should heed your own advice, stranger. I am no Saiyan, but there is a reason I hold my position, ahk ool vor mana. Don't take me lightly." He had every intent of going into this fight as though it were an actual battle. He'd not try to kill the Beastman of course, but he was going to give little leeway too. As his men parted to allow them move room the Chieftain began to move back and forth, stretching out his legs in particular as he did so. Again that pup had another quip up his sleeve, quite the chatter box. How this one managed to put up with the young Saiyan was a feat in of itself, he would at least commend Viral for that much. Oft times children here who behaved such a way were disciplined, evidently this one had never known a father's hand hitting his backside, or being made to go without a meal.

"Every day, hm? Good, you will be ready for this then. Let us make this ten minutes worthwhile, dar'um." Much as this was a fight to determine their allegiance the Chieftain was also doing so simply for entertainment. The separate villages hadn't fought with one another since the rebels left, not even for sporting chance. As a warrior at heart he loved to fight, and this would be the first chance in well over a week to let himself have some fun. "Hmph... Dar'um means friend, but I suppose it's not fitting to call a stranger that. Very well, Viral. I hope you can back up your words with action." The Beastman was prompt to begin, darting at then around the Narbu to strike. Swiveling on his trunk-like legs the Chieftain watched every move, using his large paws to intercept many of the blows. A couple hits managed to get through, Viral was fairly swift after all. Shy of budging a few centimeters each time however the Chieftain showed little sign of being afflicted, his face betraying no sense that he was being injured. "You are fast! And strong! Deadly combination!" he said, grinning as he took a heavy swipe down at Viral, "But how can you take hits?"

Viral didn’t see this guy as being too difficult to deal with, at least given the amount of time he had to fight for. Hopefully there was somebody taking note of the time because he wasn’t going to be able to keep track, especially when he had been able to fight for hours on the ship without meaning to. Having this fight would definitely help loosen him up if anything, even if he did end up getting battered. Moving around swiftly, he lashed out at the Chieftain to put him off thinking he had an advantage with his large size. Even if the attack barely did a thing, it proved to distract the Chieftain and made him think twice about his size. Moving around, he watched the alien before he lashed out, his large paw coming down at him. Letting out a growl as he moved, he immediately threw out his own paws and grabbed onto his claws, his body being pushed back before his feet managed to get a grip, “I can take anything!” he gasped before throwing his arms around and trying to pull the Narbu down if only a little before throwing his fists for his legs, trying to topple him.

Shu didn’t know if he could do anything to help or whether he should try and give him some encouraging words, but he thought they might throw him off; besides, he didn’t know many things that might be termed as encouraging. Moving away from the battlezone might help him first, especially when Viral was known to try and throw his enemies when he couldn’t slash them apart. It wouldn’t be good to try and cut the Chieftain up, he knew that much, especially when him getting too injured would mean he wouldn’t be able to fight. Looking to Takeshi he frowned a little, “How do we know when a ten minutes is done? I don’t know how much that is to count a-and if they fight for too long…something bad might happen!”

So Viral had speed and power to his name, interesting. Often times it seemed combatants had one or the other, rare was it that an opponent possessed multiple strong traits. All the more reason then the Chieftain was looking forward to this fight, it was a chance to really test himself and their supposed allies. Pivoting on his feet and blocking blows was all the Narbu could do initially, taking the chance to try and gauge his opponent's agility. The cold and snow didn't slow Viral down at all, it was impressive. Taking his own chance to deliver a blow the Chieftain lifted up a large paw, swiping down at Viral to try and knock him away. It came as a surprise when his blow was stopped, all he managed to do was drive back Viral a ways before both came to a halt. "Is that right? Prove it, Viral!" the Chieftain remarked, grinning excitably. Having his arm yanked down did manage to bring the Chieftain tumbling, and the hit to his legs brought him to his knees. He was anything but defenseless however, he had plenty of weapons to make due with. Growling in mock frustration the Narbu looked up at Viral, smiling as his tail whipped around from behind, trying to smack Viral in the back and knock him away.

Takeshi felt a bit odd just standing here and watching, normally he was in the middle of the fray. This was boring, maybe he could pick a fight with one of the others to pass the time. Then again doing so might piss of the Chieftain, and who knows what could happen after that. Resolving then to simply standing and watch he shifted the weight of Viral's cleaver onto one shoulder, using his free hand to stifle a yawn. The two were going at it in earnest right off the bat, with Viral pounding away at his larger opponent with little trepidation. If this was the pace they were going at then it was going to be one hell of a ten minute duel. "I'll count, don't worry Shu," Takeshi answered, waving a hand dismissively before putting it on his hip. "Besides, I doubt either way this is going to take ten minutes. Both of these two can really fight, it's only going to take one single mistake for the other to win. And nothing bad is going to happen, we're here to make sure of that, yeah?" The Narbu weren't showing any desire to really cause them harm, maybe this sort of fighting was common for them. How often did the Chieftain do this, he wondered?

Viral was focusing on keeping the Narbu down for now, at least to give him a hard time balancing and keeping up with him. He was not going to make it easy for him when this was his time to prove that he had nothing wrong with him to Takeshi. It was aggravating to have a group of people constantly show concern whenever something didn’t go as planned. Forcing a kick into the Chieftain’s leg he swung an arm around, aiming to force it into the Narbu’s snout before the Chieftain decided to swing his tail around in retaliation. Turning the moment he spotted it he instead tried to catch it but the force of it sent him back and almost falling off his feet. Catching himself, he rubbed his side and growled, raising his claws, “Unless I have a tail, you should fight with honour! Or do you want me to cheat too??” he spoke up as he immediately went into fight again, forcing down his claws several times in a series of swipes, “I can easily defeat you too if I decide to cheat using my own natural weapons!”

All while Shu was worried over his friend fighting the large Narbu, Takeshi seemed quite frankly bored of the entire thing. He didn’t understand how he could be, especially when his friend’s dignity was on the line as well as their potential to get some warriors. Frowning, he stared at Takeshi, giving a little nod at his answer before looking back to the fight, “And what if Mister Viral makes the mistake…? We would have to find another guy like this and maybe do this all over again”. There was a lot riding on this and it was definitely proving to be intense, especially when he couldn’t figure out who was the strongest out of the pair, “What if he uses Ki on him like the Elite did? Mister Viral would hate that…”

The Narbu were plenty versed in fighting all kinds of opponents, one benefit of being under Saiyan rule. Viral was a new kind of enemy, but even his maneuvers were similar enough that the Chieftain could draw from experience. From what he had seen thus far Viral was doing his utmost to keep moving, perhaps understanding a single blow could cause serious damage. For what it was worth the Chieftain was holding back, he wouldn't want to maim this other man even if they couldn't come to an agreement, nothing would be gained out of doing so. Taking a hit to the legs he fell to his knees, being immobilized for the moment. Or so it seemed, he wasn't without ways to retaliate. Smiling knowingly the Chieftain whipped his tail around, managing to catch Viral in the back and knocking him away. "Are you a pup? You're going to fuss over such things?" the Narbu asked, getting back to his feet. "I am using my body, gor cal lok, that was our agreement, no weapons. And you agreed to battle me, knowing I had a tail. Do not tell me you wish to reconsider now." Cheating, what a silly thing to accuse him of. Viral was properly aggravated by that move, coming at the Chieftain with furious swipes. Raising both arms up he took the slashes head on, Viral's claws cutting into but not exactly shredding his thick skin. "Whatever you have, use! A true warrior makes use of his whole body as a weapon!"

"And he tells me to relax... Viral's all pissed now..." Takeshi thought it was hypocritical how Viral was getting aggravated now, it was fine when he did it. Eh, it was sort of fun to watch these two go at it though, he'd let it slide. He couldn't much care if they recruited the Narbu or not, but he did hope Viral would win here. If their friend did then perhaps he'd regain some of his strength, and then they could finally have a real fight. Shu was worrying about nothing again by the sounds of it, finding problems in something that didn't even exist. "If Viral loses, and that's if he loses, one of us can fight the guy. If we beat him then he'll probably join us all the same." Or he could just be sore someone else had jumped in and throw them out, that would put a damper on their plans pretty quickly. Whereas Shu was uptight at the moment Takeshi was just enjoying the show, sort of indifferent towards their mission. "I doubt the guy will. I mean he seems all about honor and fair play like Viral does, so I don't think he'll pull a cheap shot."

The problem with the Narbu using his tail was it essentially was classed as a weapon with those spikes they carried and acting as knives as a result. If the Narbu wasn’t going to play fair then he would need to make things harder for him by using his own weapons. Swiping at the Narbu, he growled at his logic before jumping back, “You’ll with you never gave me the option…but I won’t show you what I can do yet!” He couldn’t use his transformation unless he was in danger or if his genes would switch on. It would be completely unfair if he wasn’t in any pain yet, even after getting hit by the daggered tail. Instead with an immediate run from danger, he moved fast around the Narbu and trying to jump onto his head, hoping to grab his horns to pull him down.

Shu was definitely worried over his friend, hoping he would be able to pull through and defeat the Narbu pretty quickly instead of apparently testing himself. If Viral was allowed to do anything his body could do then he could use his true abilities, but he didn’t appear to be doing anything of the sort. He could summon extra arms and punch the guy a lot more than he could just now, especially when that was regarded as natural too. Looking up at Takeshi, he frowned with a sigh and shook his head, “I hope he doesn’t lose because I don’t want to fight that guy! He looks really tough…” he sighed, looking away, “That tail whack was kind of cheap, though…I mean, I don’t use my tail much to fight you when we’re training…”

Leave it to an outsider to be unfamiliar with Narbu combat. They had agreed to no weapons and that was precisely what the Chieftain was doing. To class his tail as a weapon would also be classing his fists, and his feet. By that logic then he wouldn't be able to fight, that was his view on it. Granted he would give that Viral's lack of a tail was a bit unfair, perhaps he'd only use it if necessary. "I would hate for you to show your true strength right away," the Narbu retorted, giving a throaty laugh. In came another furious barrage of swipes, all of which the Chieftain took in stride. Thanks to his naturally thick skin even Viral's claws did minimal damage, he could sustain this sort of punishment for a while. The Beastman must have realized this as he changed his tactics, backing off promptly. Again Viral went about dashing around, this time trying to get onto the Narbu's back and grab at his head. He managed to climb onto his opponent cleanly, but the Chieftain was quick to try and defend himself. Reaching up and back he tried to grab hold of both Viral's sides, having the intent on lifting Viral up and throwing him away into the snow overhead. "No you don't, dar'um!"

So far the fight was pretty back and forth, neither party making any real capitalizing blows. What had it been already, one minute? It was an interesting fight to watch, but at this rate Viral probably wouldn't beat the Narbu. Technically he didn't have to either, it was just last ten minutes, that was all. Knowing their friend though he would much rather win than have time run out and it be declared a draw. Takeshi could understand that sentiment all too well, a draw was just as bad as losing. "You won't have to. If Viral loses I'll take him on," he said, grinning as he gave his knuckles a cracking. If Viral lasted five minutes, he'd try to last at least six. If Viral made it nine then he'd go the whole ten. "But you could, you know. Nothing's stopping you from using it on me," Takeshi pointed out. "Though if you try hitting me with it I might bite it, just putting that out there."

Viral knew he was quicker than this beast of an alien and if he was going to make it to ten minutes then all he would need to do was not let him touch him. Trying to move around him quickly, Viral jumped onto the giant’s back and tried to grab hold of him; however, just as fast the Narbu moved his big paws around and snatched him, throwing him off with a jolt. Twisting in the air he managed to land on his hands, shifting his weight to stop him from sliding as he raced the Narbu again. That was just annoying, but he couldn’t let it bother him. Growling, he immediately ran at the Narbu with great strength, simply trying to force his fists into his gut with a strong jump. If he could find a weakness on this alien then he could bring him down without needing to resort to desperate measures.

Shu watched Viral anxiously, even if he had no real reason to be worried. It was a matter of Viral showing what he could do and if he would be willing to show off his true strength, but if he was too prideful and thought he could win without using anything then he might end up losing like Takeshi tends to when he messes around. Luckily enough Viral didn’t appear to like being messed around with and was already leaping right at the Narbu again. Getting all excited for a second, he squeaked when he realised what Takeshi said, “Wha? Nooo! Don’t bite my tail!” he squeaked, grabbing hold of it and moving away from Takeshi, “I’m not going to let you do that…so I won’t do that! If you get your tail again, I’ll bite it because you said that…”

Viral might have speed, and he might have power, but so did the Narbu. Maybe not to the degree the Beastman possessed but they were close enough. Viral could pound away at the Chieftain for the whole ten minutes and he may well not get anywhere, not if he didn't know how to strike properly. Blunt forces like he was using were near useless, if Viral was half the warrior thought to be then he would figure this out eventually. Again speed was used to try and gain the upper hand, the Chieftain couldn't move quickly enough to counter. Feeling a weight on his back the Narbu grinned, reaching back and managing to grab hold of his opponent. With a roar of exertion he threw Viral off of himself and forward, intending to toss him right into the nearby icy cliffs. That didn't quite work, the Beastman managed to catch himself and halt his flight. Immediately he was back on the offensive too, certainly a persistent one. Bracing by slamming both legs down into the ground the Chieftain grinned, holding his arms out to try and grab Viral again. He missed, and as a result took a strong punch to his gut, one after another. Groaning from the surprising force the Narbu began to step backwards, trying to grab hold of the Beastman's arms.

Hm, to manage to cause harm with punches alone, Viral truly was strong. Perhaps he had underestimated the visitor after all. Not again, now things would be taken more seriously. Reaching down with both arms he managed to block a succession of punches, pushing the Beastman back before stepping away. "Impressive... Your strength is fearsome indeed," he said, placing a paw over his now bruised stomach. "But... It takes much more than that to defeat me. Noa bruk fae zo, let me show you the power of a Narbu warrior." Hunching over slightly the Chieftain extended one leg back, grinning toothily as his eyes locked onto Viral. With a push of his hind leg he was off, moving at a speed quick enough to kick up a trail of snow behind him. Approaching Viral he extended out an arm, trying to catch Viral in the gut and pull him along through sheer momentum alone, having the idea of driving the Beastman into the wall.

How long could these two actually fight, Takeshi wondered. 10 minutes would come and go, but he couldn't help but think they could go longer. For now they were evenly matched, yet he was certain they were holding back. Sizing one another up if anything, trying to get a feel for what the other was capable of. Yeah, he'd expect no less from Viral. Smiling as he watched their friend begin to deliver punch after punch he looked at Shu, smirking as he teased biting his tail. "Relax, your tail is too hairy to bite, I'd probably get a hairball or something," he teased, rolling his eyes. "Bite my tail? Hmph, who says I want my tail back anyways?" Their little banter would have to be put on hold for a moment, a sudden change of pace made the fight before them pick up. The Narbu seemed to be upping his efforts now, rushing headlong at Viral at a surprising speed. If something that big hit anyone that fast it was bound to hurt, Viral had best be careful. "Hey, watch out Viral!"

Viral wanted to get on top of this fight and was willing to go the highly aggressive route, jumping straight into the fray and throwing pretty solid punches. For Viral to be this aggressive he needed to be willing to risk getting hit if just to try and discover a weakness with this brute. Throwing his fists at the Chieftain, he put in all his strength into it until he was pushed away. Stumbling a little, he growled as he stared at the Narbu, watching him to see if he had been properly beaten. He was not letting him get the better of him, staring into his eyes to try and predict his next attack. He looked properly beaten, but when the Narbu began to gain new confidence he immediately readied for another attack.

Viral didn’t want to underestimate his opponent and was immediately ready to take the attack, focusing on the Narbu’s fierce eyes as there was a sudden boost of speed from the giant. Confident he could take the on the alien, there was a split second just before the Narbu impact where Viral was supposed to move; however, Viral froze up instead and was hit by the large fist. Being driven back, he drove his claws into the Narbu’s arm before there was a burst of energy that came from him as he was slammed into the wall. It expelled out of him with great ferocity, but he didn’t appear to be out for the count as his eyes were wide open and he was greatly angered, or at least it appeared to be angered. Growling angrily, he threw his claws down again and kicked out, the energy still buzzing off him.

Shu stared at Takeshi for a moment in confusion to his denial of a tail before his attention immediately went back to Viral when things got bad, letting out a gasp as his friend was hit. Wanting to help his friend, he stopped himself especially with seeing the energy burst from Viral and he appeared to be still awake and okay. Something about it made him feel pretty afraid, but he didn’t know whether it was the Narbu or Viral that made him afraid. Immediately taking refuge behind Takeshi, he frowned and looked up at him, “I-I thought Mister Viral was going to dodge it for a second there…”

Viral hit fast, and he hit hard. If the Chieftain wasn't careful he could very well end up taking some serious punishment during their exchange. All that could be done for the flurry of punches was brace and take them in stride, with the Narbu managing to absorb most of the hits. Continuing to do so however wasn't going to help him, they needed to break apart. Finally managing to block Viral's attacks he put distance between the two of them, taking a brief moment to gather himself. His stomach and chest were quite sore at this point, easily bruised. But bruises were scarcely something to make him back down, it would take more than that to win. "You're good, Viral. Against any other opponent you'd probably have done some serious damage. Ir veste." Suffice to say things were a bit more serious now, those hits were beyond just testing the waters. If Viral was willing to stop pulling punches then so was the Chieftain, he would fight on the Beastman's terms.

If Viral thought he was the only one of them with speed then he was in for quite the shocker. The Chieftain could move swiftly as well, though only in bursts, not constantly. Now would be a perfect time to show that though, with Viral temporarily complacent. By extending a leg back he gave himself more force, pushing off and rushing headlong at the Beastman. With one great punch thrown forward he managed to hit the visitor, both causing damage and driving him back. Something wasn't right though, what was this strange sensation? Eyes locked onto Viral, the Narbu watched as energy began to leak from his opponent. Small amounts at first, and then in a flash it was released in a burst. Growling angrily as he was temporarily blinded the Chieftain had to back off slightly, and even more so when he was kicked in his bruised torso. Shielding his eyes with one hand he looked back down, noticing now too the singed hair and skin on his person. That energy, whatever it had been, was quite hot. Enough so that the snow and ice around them had melted, with bare rock showing. "Are we using energy now? Is this your way of telling me?"

Something here didn't seem quite right, or perhaps he was imagining things. Takeshi had this funny feeling right as the Narbu was going to attack Viral but stayed put, not willing to act just on a gut feeling. Watching on instead he narrowed his eyes at the Beastman as something seemed off, and a second later watched in shock as energy was expended from their friend. Wait a minute, Viral was using energy first? He hated doing that, and it wasn't like he was in dire straights here. Nor did he dodge that attack where he easily could of, so what was going on? Feeling Shu behind him the older boy frowned, watching the pair carefully. "He should have dodged it, that's the thing... He had plenty of time to," Takeshi said. Unless he wanted to get hit so he could use his energy there. But again, Viral using energy was very irregular. "Shu... I'm starting to think this isn't going to end well... I've just got this bad feeling."

Viral would had dodged the attack if he still possessed the sense to at that moment, but there was a moment where his mind had lost the plot and the Narbu’s fist collided with his body with great strength and smashed him into a wall. The energy output was not on purpose; in fact, he didn’t have any control over it even if he tried. With the great pain of his insides being properly bruised he struggled to bring it under control, pushing away from the wall when the Narbu backed off and allowed him to get some breathing space. Taking a hit like that shouldn’t be enough to throw his energy completely off. Trying to think clearly, he shook his head slowly before grabbing hold of it. This was incredibly painful, but the only way around fixing it was to just unleash it and get it over with.

Not knowing whether giving into it was the best idea, he still had to try. Staggering, he soon tried to pull his energy before releasing it, the energy bursting out as he transformed immediately into his feline form in a bright flash. Letting out a roar his energy continued to buzz every so often, but it looked like he had it under control again. Shaking his head quickly, he tried to find focus again before going for the Narbu, not wanting to have that anomaly interfere with his task. He could rival the Chieftain with this height, but he couldn’t concern himself with that just now. Snarling as he threw his claws down, his energy continued to spark every so often but wasn’t going into the danger zone of causing widespread meltdown just yet.

Shu didn’t know what was happening to their friend, but watching him only told him he was struggling to contain his own energy. He couldn’t sense it, but he could feel the heat coming from it as it caused melting and damaged to the surrounding area. They should stop the fight if their friend was getting to this stage, but of course Viral would hate for them to do that and would probably get really angry at them. Holding his head down as if trying to hide, he looked up at Takeshi and shook his head, “It’s already not going well, nevermind the end…” he spoke, looking back at Viral, “What do we do if things get worse?”

This wasn't just Viral using energy, not willingly anyways. It almost looked to be trying to escape from his body. Why in the world would that be happening though? The fact that he expended enough energy and heat to melt away layers of thick ice was a bit unsettling, his power always was unusually hot. If this continued Takeshi worried this pit in his stomach would come to fruition, and something bad would happen. Either to Viral or the Chieftain, he didn't know, but something bad definitely was coming. "We should stop it now... Before it gets worse..." Like Shu he knew full well their friend would get angry if they interfered. Considering what was happening though they didn't have much choice, it was too risky to let it go on. Hopefully doing this wasn't going to fly in the face of some random Narbu custom and label them as heretics or some nonsense. Easing Shu back a bit, Takeshi started to walk towards the pair, smiling nervously as he approached Viral. "Hey, Viral? Uh... You should sit down for a minute and relax. We can probably put this fight on hold for now," he said, looking over at the Chieftain, "Uh... Right?"

This energy was different than what Saiyans used. Hotter, more concentrated, just what was it? If this was going to be the pace of their fight now then he would have to mind the energy. Looking over his burned fur and skin the Chieftain smiled, wiping himself down as tufts of hair fell off of his body. That energy was still pouring off of the Beastman, perhaps he wasn't able to control it. Curious, was he trying to get an edge by using his power? "You are not the only one who possesses energy, dar'um. Let us see who is better." Between his two paws the Narbu began to gather up energy, a variation of Ki. He may not be able to burn Viral like he had the Chieftain, but this should do something. Prior to even releasing the blast however that pup came over to interfere, trying to call off the fight for a moment. To have someone get in the middle of a duel was highly unusual, and he sounded to be concerned for Viral. Lowering his paws the Narbu frowned, sniffing in annoyance. "It is only a short duel, why take a break?" he asked, looking over at Viral. "If you agree with the pup then you forfeit, is that what you desire?"

Viral didn’t know if this would work, but by all means it wasn’t having the best time trying to hide his energy like this either. All of this training should have been making an improvement, but he couldn’t do it. Just because he was in a bigger vessel for his energy didn’t mean he was able to control it. This was not looking good for him; he didn’t even know what was causing it. In his feline form he probably had more control over his thought patterns than his other form, but only because he had been training. His energy was still leaking from him and it was pretty painful and difficult to deal with. Going in for another attack, he stopped when Takeshi came closer to the pair to tell him to stop the fight. The Chieftain was pretty ready to blast him with Ki at this point but stopped when Takeshi approached too.

Viral was in too much pain to be bothering with this interference, his eyes going back to the Chieftain who only questioned Takeshi and denied him a break. Snarling at the Chieftain’s words, he raised his claws, “I will never!! The problem isn’t even you!” He needed to get rid of the energy and fast, but the only way to do that was to fight. Hoping it wasn’t going to be a long lasting problem he immediately jumped at the Chieftain again and swiped down his claws, his energy still going spastic but quite frankly he couldn’t think about that. Something must had damaged him when he was slammed like that, but whatever that was had left him in constant pain and energy breaking everywhere.
