The noise of the bar flooded Yan's senses as he sat at the bar drinking the poor excuse of cactus juice that was handed to him. The almost traditional drink in the Earth Kingdom varied, as many things do, and he assumed that winding up in a major city like Omashu that the cantina's could at least offer up once decent drink. Although the reason he was here, he figured, a lousy drink would be all that he needed. It wasn't even a fortnight ago that the rumors of new resistance group reached his ears in the outlands surrounding Omashu, rumors that were compelling enough to pull Jampo out of hiding and make a bee-line dash to the great city in the hopes to meet with someone from this Rising that would be able aid him in his entry, but so far he had very little success. Since the day that he arrived Yan had noticed a small group, no more than three or four, had been keeping track of him no doubt with his decade plus of resistance affiliation. As far as he knew, they had no suspicions that he was an airbender, which he hoped to keep that way in the chance that he might have to get into a fight. As the doors of the small, hole in the wall, cantina swung open Yan instinctively slid to hold his staff which sat beside him as he eyed the new patrons with cautious eyes and sure enough three Fire Nation Police came and sat two tables behind him ’Now where did the fourth one go?’ Vibrant, cerulean orbs seemed to glow past the shadow casted by her hood as she cautiously looked around the bar. Unsure of where the fourth Officer went, she returned her gaze back to the bearded man, and the small group of fire nation officers sitting only a few feet away from her. Like her hot-headed counterparts, Kalani had been following the suspicious looking old man once he entered Omashu, but with her face plastered on wanted posters all over the streets of Omashu, and most of the Southern Earth Kingdom she knew better then to go out without a disguise. While it wasn't much, a dark grey cloak covered her from head to toe, allowing her to slip past the oblivious eyes of the fire nation police as she sneaked about the city. Hood still atop her head and a glass of water sitting before her, Kalani blended in amongst the crowd as she carefully watched the officers, and the strange old man. Informed by one of the many ‘little birds’ fluttering around the city, the Rising had assigned Kalani to seek out this 'potential recruit’ that had suddenly arrived, but upon reveal she wasn't all too impressed. His thick salt and pepper colored hair, and beard gave him a rather senile appearance, and with a simple glance at his clothing Kalani had deduced him down to two things; he was either an ambitious homeless man who was looking for a death wish, or a nomad who had traveled sometime to get here. Of course none of this really mattered to her, what truly mattered here and now was if this man was even worthy of joining the Rising. So rather then intervening and ruining her cover, Kalani simply sat back and waited for the police to make the first confrontation. The sound of reverberating bootsteps echoed in the hall loud enough to hush the surrounding noise, a sign which meant that a fight was immanent. Keeping a calm exterior Yan continued drinking the last of his cactus juice and set his glass down onto the bar and waited for the inevitable. The man smelled of an odd mixture of cantina smell with whatever he had on him from his previous locations. The room became deathly quiet as the Officer came and stood directly behind him. "Your new around here aren't you? "Yes actually...and I would like to be left alone." The blunt response caught the officer off guard not expecting to here such outward defiance. After a brief moment to collect himself, he once again reasserted himself. "You've been acting suspicious ever since you've arrived. I'm under order by Fire Lord Regent Iroh under the command of Phoenix King Ozai to arrest any with the suspicion of activity to any resistance group." With a heavy sigh Yan had guessed that it was time to leave, albeit by a more violent means than had anticipated. A firm hand grasped his shoulder and without a second thought Yan spun to the right, breaking the hold and using his free hand to push the officers face into the bar, effectively rendering him unconscious. Within the same breath he grabbed his staff and made a wide swing sending a massive gust of wind knocking the other two hard into the wall. Now the center of attention Yan gathered his things, left the payment for his drink (plus a tip for damages) and preceded to walk out the door. As he stood in the door way he called to the other set of eyes that had been watching him, "If were going to escape we need to go now." At the scene before her, the young woman felt her heart ram against her chest as a wide grin slipped across her features. He was an Airbender! Standing from her chair and moving with haste once he called out to her, Kalani spoke in a hushed tone up to the man as she stepped past him and out of the bar, “If you’re searching for the resistance, follow me!” Taking the lead, adrenaline pounded in her ears as she made quick steps down the busy side walk. Side stepping and shoving past a few civilians a loud shout came from across the street as three other officers ran fell in pursuit, forcing Kalani to break out into a run. “Stop right there!” With little care for the civilians nearby fireballs were sent hurling towards the two causing terrified screams and chaos to break out within the streets. Raising her hands out of the cloak and revealing her watertribe garb, she pulled the water from the storm drains, bursting the manholes off the cover as a large wave circled with her movement. Moving quickly she twisted around blocking the first fireball and causing half of the shield to splatter in hot water and steam, but as she finally faced her attackers Kalani smoothly shot out her left hand firing the water out in a powerful stream, and effectively striking down two of the officers. Despite the danger, a grin was clear on the young woman’s face as her dark hood fell back. Goosebumps rose on her skin as a wild look came to her eye, but rather then sticking around for reinforcements to show up she broke out into a run and headed down an alley way, “This way!” Trying to lose the police, Kalani lead the airbender onto another street as she searched desperately for a sewage drain. ‘Where is it?’ Turning down another street a startled gasp slipped from her lips as she skidded to a halt. Blocking the path before her were five fire nation officers with their fists raised and ready to attack. Turning around and attempting to run the other direction, the three officers from before were now standing behind them. “Well,” With her back to the old man, a small smirk settled along her lips as she caught sight of a large sewage drain only a few feet away from her, “Think you can keep up, old man?” As the two quickly made their way down the street Yan kept pondering the mystery that was teenage girl that was dragging him along. The thick and heavy grey cloak masked most of her features so it was hard to tell from what nation she hailed from. Yan's musing were interupted when an exclamation and a medley of fireballs came hurtling towards them and with graceful instinct Yan jumped as high as he could onto an adjacent wall then swung his staff mid-air and sent a sharp gust of wind to deflect two of the fireballs into the street leaving mild craters of rock and ash. As he landed he watched as the mysterious girl pull water from the storm drains and with great skill defeated the remaining guards. 'A waterbender...well that IS interesting.' Once again following the girls lead, the two continued running down streets looking for something Yan could only guess at. Having found what she was looking for the girl pointed at the large sewage drain as she issued her challange. Yan couldn't help but smirk back at her, she reminded him of himself in his early years at the Temple. Bending a vortex under the drain cover, Yan pulled the cover off of the drain and set it to the side as he walked over to the and looked down at her with a matching grin. "The question should be... Yan stepped into the drain and on his way down he called back, "...Can you?
